Summer Co-ed Softball at Irving Park Sundays

This week Player of the Week goes out to the toughest player I've ever met, Jennifer Haskin. Jennifer not only got hit in the head, she took only 10 minutes to gather herself and come back in! She truly loves the game of softball and nothing, not-a-thing, can stop her. Jennifer was even back to making jokes about tossing bats by the end of her game. Thank you Jennifer for being the rockstar that you are!

Evan led off the game with a huge home run to left, it went well into the trees
Every time he came up, he swang like the ball was on a tee
Next at bat, he smashed the ball to right, he rounded first and rounded second an was at the plate in a flash
He hit the ball and got on base every time he stepped to the plate, He helped his team to a 4-0 record and had fun doing it.

As usual, the last game of the day was the most competitive! Greg's Jort Report clashed with I'd Hit That in a back and forth affair which saw 5 lead changes and twice as many web gems. Greg was a strike throwing machine who went the distance in a solid complete game effort, ultimately holding I'd Hit That scoreless in 4 of the 7 innings. It is a shame that Greg will be leaving Underdog for Iowa in the coming months, but perhaps that will be welcome news to opposing hitters! Greg can certainly spin it with the best of them.

Craig captained his team to back-to-back wins Sunday afternoon, leading the way on the mound as he split the pitching duties with George Souris. Craig kept Fireballz scoreless in the final two innings of the championship game to secure a the title for his group. Craig brought a great attitude to the field throughout the day and is deserving of this week's Player of the Week.
