William the Great
3 win Day
On a hot day at Rose City Park, William needed no time to warm up! He was a steel trap in the outfield helping his team hold off Paddy Wagon 12-6. Also, he got his bat going early and often. But what really made his day special was helping Martin and Friends an ‘Indy’ team, not only field enough players but win back to back games! Thanks for all the energy and fun you brought to the diamond! Not to mention 20+ innings of softball - somebody get that man a beer!

Walk off Hero
Jake is a great personality to have on the diamond. His jokes and banter with his sister makes for a good chuckle. This week was extra special! A courageous 6 run 7th inning from Master Batters tied the game going into the bottom of the 7th. Jenny Lutton, a hitting machine sped her way to first representing the winning run. With a duck on the pond, brother bear eyed down a 2 seam change up from his nemesis in a Giants hat. Jake Lutton delivered for his team, a deep shot to right allowed his Sis to cross the plate for the winning run!

Vaya con Dios
In the first inning of the Vaya con Dios' game vs Last Picked on Sunday, Leland Nash made one of the best catches I've ever seen on an Underdog diamond. Playing right center, a ball was hit into the right center field gap, he raced over to his right at full speed and laid out fully horizontally to rob the Last Picked batter of extra bases. In a game, that ended up in a tie due to some late inning heroics by Vaya con Dios, this first inning play actually may have ended up being the difference between winning and losing as well. Congratulations Leland! You're this week's Player of the Week!

Drunk Tank
Mike Cleveland was one of the best players on the diamond on Sunday at Rose City Park... he also happens to be 80 years old. Mike killed it at Rose City Park on Sunday. He actually played 2 games for Drunk Tank and Paddy Wagon in 100 degree heat. He was on-base damn near every time. You'd think at 80 years old, he would maybe get a base hit, then ask for a courtesy runner. Not Mike. He ran around the bases like someone 40 years younger. It was amazing how nimble he was at 80 years old. It was very inspiring to know that I might have 40 years of softball playing left in me. Great job, Mike! You're this week's Player of the Week!
