Good Times Even in Indoor
Sets on the Beach came out all hyped up and ready to bump, set and spike. But with a team name like Sets on the Beach, they were in complete denial, but nonetheless, began their quest for indoor play.
They had the early game in the season opener, but they didn't get to play because they scared off the team they were set to play. So rather than just go home and celebrate the victory by default. Sets on the Beach, Led by their fearless leader, Andrea decided "......since we are here, let's play!"
And play is what they did. They divided their team and play with no love lost on the court. As stragglers came in, they ended up recruiting them while laughing up a storm at the good times they had.
In one particular play, Amanda hit a rocket of a shot straight down. Jeff Markovics tried to move out of the way but took a buck shot to the chest as the ball was destined to hit him. Of course Jeff had to get all Hollywood and gave a dramatic performance, but either way you put it, Sets on the Beach knows how to have fun. And for that we give them the Team of the Week in the season opener. Congratulations!

This week's Player of the Week goes to Jeff Kreglo from The Ungovernaballs. Not only was Mr. Jeff the very first player to arrive, he was pretty excited to play, but he also had a fantastic time during the games. Jeff was encouraging to his team and kept a positive disposition all throughout the game. He even had an amazing pancake dig that was unbelievable. So unbelievable in fact that his teammates thought it hit the ground!

After game one of a close match between Slow Magic and Spike Club, the player known as Toes said it best, "We are all winners". His positive attitude made our second match up of the night a fun one to watch. His game changing hits helped Slow Magic to the vicotry. Both teams played a great game and came out winners of an exciting Week 3 match up!

While the "Hustle and Hit" could very well be the next Justin Beiber #1 song, Linda Okereke perfected it this week and became our Beverly Cleary Wednesday Night, Player of the Week. Linda came in fired up and ready to play. With her team behind her, she made big plays that factored into the win for Sets on the Beach. All smiles as they left the court to celebrate, Linda made a big impression at the gym tonight!

A case of the giggles was the story for our Player of the Week for Beverly Cleary. Anderew Hall from Set Issues came down hard with them. There wasn't a play Anderew didn't have something to laught about. Each point was followed up with laughter, but that is was Underdog is all about FUN. Anderew did just that from the start of the game to the finish. He really had a great time tonight and displayed just how much fun Wednesdays are at Beverly Cleary!
