Late Fall Co-ed Football at Lewis and Clark Sundays

Tavis Smith was on the defensive prowl this week. Tavis and Magic Junk went into halftime down by three scores, but came out in the second half on a mission. Thanks to Tavis dropping back and breaking at just the right moment to snag that ball before the receiver, Magic Junk quickly gained the moment. They orchestrated three touchdowns in less than 8 minutes to the second half to take the lead for good.
Tavis and the defense kept up the pressure the rest of the game only allowing a touchdown as time expired and the game out of reach for Sacks in the City. Magic Junk showed a lot of second half courage to come back and secure the win.

The 6:00pm game between Whoa Bundy vs. Team Go!(to the 16th power) lived up to the hype and then some on the frozen tundra of Lewis & Clark field on Sunday.
Trailing late in the game with a few precious minutes remaining, Team Whoa Bundy gathered in a huddle, attempted to warm themselves up for a few seconds, and then set out on a great game winning drive. PK made her presents felt early on the drive with an amazing tip-toe catch on the sidelines. As the ball was being caught by PK on the sidelines, two defensive players ran right by her expecting her to fall out of bounds. No chance of that happening with the game on the line...PK kept her balance, spun around and picked up another five yards to extended the drive and eventually hard fought victory.
Nice frozen footwork PK...you proved the temperature had nothing to do with the skills you brought to the field this evening.

Naomi N. earns Player of the Week honors because of her staunch defense in the overtime semi-finals win against Whoa Bundy. This game was a high scoring affair that went to overtime, which is when Naomi decided to make a stand to end the game.
After a quick score in which Tyler Y. found a receiver in the back of the end zone, A.A. stepped onto the field for defense. Naomi came up huge with the game ending interception just short of the goal line. She jumped the route and with quick hands secured the football and the right to move on to the championship. From there her and A.A. kept up the play and went on to win the finals.
