Walker Faison
Bunt Cakes
Walker was a great player on the field! He played many different positions on the field and he played them well! He was also great at building great team communication!
It was a messy day at Peninsula Park. The summer rain that we love so much in the PNW fell from the sky as the first game of the year for Pitch Don't Kill My Vibe got under way. While the PDKMV crew was a bit rusty at first (they were used to smaller balls, so we get it), they quickly found their stride. Every one kicked butt and balls, but the star was definitely Jenica. Yes, there were a couple easy catches that found the ground, leaving their muddy trail everywhere, but Jenica's smile never left her face. Welcome to Underdog Jenica and crew. Hope this season is a blast!

Charlie Denton
Bunt Cakes
Charlie is a great leader and builds communication for the Bunt Cakes! I am sure that he will assist his team to a great victory. He is like the "Colonel of Kickball," and not the Colonel of KFC. I hope to see extra crispy kicks next week and maybe some regular defense. Maybe you will Mash Potatoes the other team?
Team Mmurrica, eff ya!
Dressed in red, white, and Ruby's patented pink, Ashley led her team with style and grace. Dressed like Uncle Sam, Ashley came to celebrate America's holiday knowing she'd be out of town for the big day. Stars on her face, her players in the right place, Ashley takes the cake!!!

Emily
Ruby Death Squad - OG
In her kickball debut, Emily rose to the occasion and showed everyone what she's made of! In an epic showing of sportsmanship, Emily broke the line and went to the other side to make sure everyone on her team still had a great time! Add her kicking ability to the mix and she's sure to be recruited back for future weeks!

Sarah Laidlaw
Justice was served
Playing not only 1 great game, she followed it up with another! Making all arms and leg catch at 2nd, Sarah made it look nice and easy. Hustling in iffense took adding some bunts and contributing to a couple runs.
Smiling and having fun, she was doing it all. Recess time is over, underdog or not Prestige worldwide, was all business. Keep it up
Let's set the scene: Dean was out in center. Cobra Kai's sensei was up, ready to sweep the leg. The grass grabbed the pitch and brought it to a slow halt as it inched over the plate. And BOOM, a shot to deep center. Dean took a step forward (breaking the cardinal rule of always taking a step back first), then quickly realized that the ball was going to soar wayyy over his head. He spun, albeit the wrong way, and sprinted towards the imaginary fence. His arms stretched Mr. wonderfully, and to everyone's surprise Dean brought it in. If Hank Aaron played kickball, he would make catches like this...
Thanks for letting us see your "oh shit" face Dean. Now we know why all the girls are swooning!
P.S. Boats and hoes!
Normally we like to honor players of the week. However, Kick Madra$$ as an entire team deserves the honor for this week. Kick Madra$$ played a tough game and eventually lost to Merino Ball Breakers in their first championship game. Even though it was the first loss Madra$$ had all season, the whole team kept the vibe going with stellar music and positive attitudes. Kick Madra$$ were far from sore losers this week and were exemplars of FUN! At the end of the day we play kickball for fun and it's awesome to see a team take that to heart. Great season Kick Madra$$ and we look forward to seeing what you can do in the Fall!
Ruby played an amazing game in the finals of the fun half of the league. Jumping to an early lead, it was nothing but smiles, laughing, and failed bunt attempts. As Levelers caught up and gained the lead, nothing changed. There were equal amount of smiles, even more laughing, and even some successful bunts. With a valiant comeback, Ruby scored 5 in the top of the 7th, coming up one run short of extending the inning. Instead of letting it get them down, the Ruby crew was ecstatic that they had the opportunity to play in what they called "the best game of the year." Rubies, you are diamonds to us!
Second place may be the first loser is some eyes, but to us Merino Ball BreakAHS are champions of life. Each and every team member had a smile on their face throughout the game, keeping a positive attitude and hope for a comeback alive and strong until the very end. This is what Underdog is all about, and we appreciate each and every Ball Breakah, even when their breakin' ours...
