Poppin' that volleyball cherry...
With a HUGE win in the finals!

The road to the finals was one of ups and downs for our beloved volleyball virgins. It wasn't always easy to keep the balls on the court. There were even games where they had to get non-virgins to participate so they could field a team. But none of that mattered on the big day.
In the semifinals, the Virgins squared off against the Chicken Wingers. Keeping their elbows in, the Wings put up a good fight, but the Virgins were able to pull out and away with some solid bumping and spiking.
Then came the finals against a formidable foe in Battle Hardened Badasses.. The Badasses took an early lead and it looked like the fearless threesome was poised for an underhanded upset. After losing game one, the Virgins put on their game faces and took control. With solid passing, lots of gentle words of encouragement, and a great attitude, the Virgins made the second and third times/games something to remember. Let this be a lesson for all of you (volleyball) virgins: The first time (game) can be rough, but it's what you learn and take with you to the second and third times (games) that make you a champ!
Congrats virgins. Collier - keep picking those killer spots. Stacey - hydrate with two or three Ciders next time. Iris and Ilyse, keep on fighting the good fight with a smile on your face. Grant and Steve - quit making everyone look bad with your muscles. Bring those broken cherries back next season!

  Homeless Cougars

The Homeless Cougars found a home...
... on the sands of Gabriel Park.

In a championship match that started out with the antithesis of good serves, both teams looked as though they may be hitting their valley (not peak) at the end of the season. Did someone change the court size in the last week? Good thing we had two hours, as it looked like we would need every second. Quickly, the Cougars pulled it together and won a hard fought battle with Orange Crush, taking down the first two games to seal the deal.
Chris, with a belly full of shrimp, ice cream, and Rockstar took a beating from the ladies, but kept on tickin'. There was even a point in the third game where he got his serves up to 100%, granted it was just one serve... Nonetheless, it was the ladies that stole the show. Marcella was as aggressive as ever, Becks wore her smile all game long, and Corin yelled at everyone for not being where they were supposed to be. John, maybe next time you'll take a red eye for your work shtuff and the volleyball court will have balance restored.
Congrats you Cougars you. See ya prowling around the courts soon I am sure. Maybe you will put on your big boy/big girl pants and venture over to Woks Up... That's right, we said it.
Cheers!

How are Standings Calculated?
Standings shown do not automatically adjust for tiebreakers. Tiebreakers may be adjusted manually prior to playoffs with head-to-head followed by runs/points allowed (or sets lost for Volleyball leagues) as the top 2 criteria. Forfeits may be calculated differently as stated below.
º Forfeits
Parenthesized numbers indicate wins or losses by forfeit.
When calculating Ranking Points, forfeits may be weighted differently than normal wins and losses.
