This day was no walk in the park (pun intended) This team was in a dog fight while the score will not show you all they endured to get to the finals. Up Yurs had to get passed Fireballz and they were in a giving mood...Gave them a fight they won't soon forget, missing a few players some of the others, like Kobe, Lebron, Magic, Bird the list goes on, just put the team on their back and said lets go! Ahal, Lopez and all the ladies, wow they were flat out getting it in and getting it done. Lopez and Ahal diving on the hard to get balls and making major league plays. (good stuff) They (Fireballz) had a fight to win also against all my subs who lost some of their players during the game which was challenging for them to. We started this amazing day of Softball goodness with a freaking great game with those "crazy pitches" aka Pitches Be Crazy and Huevos Grandes to the crack of those bats every inning and a great match up. The day just didn't seem the same without the Day Donkeys but we will see them next season. (Love those Donkeys ;-))
This was the day of games you live for, at least I doo. Every game was a fight, not too many things to argue ( I love that part) not saying there weren't challenging monents but we made it through. People can say what they want about this "fun league" (Underdog Sports) these people and teams are COMPETITIVE they mean business.
Our division champs had me a little worried when the Big Eggs showed they could hit, get on and move them around and bat around. And they looked a little shook when the speedy guy was thrown out twice in the game prior. He came back around and punished the eggs by hitting a hard grounder to the right side and legging it out for an in the park homer...WHAT, WHAT! This guy wow really there isn't much to say other than that.
His brother followed him with a on the fly homerun only to be followed by Adam the huge bat hitting to any field deep. But the Eggs would not quit Justin, Ron and TJ had a few hits of their own to share they missed ever loving Sam, however, they had the "12 year old" pick up his slack. If you weren't there you missed a great day at Irving park. I had a blast with all my teams even those who didn't agree with the umpire. I look forward to the matchups in the spring.
