Seeded #1 and feeling solid about their chances, team Ballrats kicked off the night at the Friendly House with a convincing 6-1 win against up-and -comer team Odd Balls. With just a few minutes to pat themselves on the back and celebrate, they immediately dialed in their game faces for the much anticipated match up against defending champs team Ham. A chess match of a dodgeball match if there ever was one, team Ballrats methodically picked apart the legendary defense of team Ham, squeaking out a 3-2 win on their way to a finals appearance vs. team Questionable Catch. The runaway freight train called Ballrats couldn't be stopped tonight, resulting in a 5-1 championship game victory and well deserved place in the record books of Underdog dodgeball.
Lean, mean and green...that's how they did "it" this season. January 7th, 2015...an evening sure to be remembered by the members of Ballrats in their quest for that elusive Underdog dodgeball championship.

The Division 2 playoff bracket looked to be a barn burner on paper at the Friendly House on Wednesday night. The play lived up to the hype, with over half of the matches being decided by one game. Both team Accidental Awesomeness and The Ocho started off the night strong with two convincing victories in the first round, leading many to believe these two teams were bound to meet up during the 8:50 championship game.
Both teams kept their part of the bargain and brought their skills and love for the game on court 1 for a finals match many will be talking about for weeks to come. The Ocho was focused from the get go, taking a commanding 3-2 lead with just 7 minutes left in the match. Accidental Awesomeness dug deep, found a 5th gear, summoned the dodgeball gods, chanted and cheers their fellow teammates...whatever it was, it was an awesome display of team spirit and unity desperately needed at this time of the match. Twice they rallied back from last man standing on their side, somehow finding a way to stop the Ocho in their tracks and rally to an amazing 4-3 victory in the championship match.
Well done Accidental Awesomeness...a well deserved title for a team that embodies all that is great about Underdog dodgeball.
