Kickball Schedule

Fall Softcore Co-ed Kickball at Westmoreland Park Wednesday

Sponsors

Wednesday, September 3

This league has been scheduled for an additional 7th game. Since we anticipate a rain-out through the season we will not reschedule as a make-up game is already scheduled for you. If there are no rain-outs teams will get to play an extra game of kickball!

I Like Big Bunts
Cool, calm, and collected, Todd led his crew of big bunters to a win Wednesday night at the very first (sanctioned) Underdog kickball game. In a game that started out a bit slow, Big Bunts brought on an onslaught of runs in the second and third innings, pulling back on the jet packs and cruising to an opening day victory. Todd has a crazy crew to corral, and there is not one person that could do it better. Kicking balls late into the night, Todd and the Big Bunts are a team to watch this season (even if it is just to make sure you get a good laugh in before the night is over).

Ring around the platey...
Not only did we learn that Tracy can't get on base with out doing her pre-kick routine of circling home plate, but we also learned that she's a lefty. CRAZY!
In an intense game that had more close calls than a lucky squirrel making it across 205 in rush hour, Tracy and her crazy Winning, Losing, and Boozing crew pulled out all the stops on their way to hard fought victory over Last Minute Chaos. Fellow bunters take note of Tracy's form: She assumes a sprinter position about 3 feet behind home. As the pitch is released, Tracy's happy foot begins to rise. Swinging her boot like a pendulum, she usually sends it right up the third base line, making it damn near impossible to make a play. She then turns on the afterburners and runs ALL the way through first, often times halfway to right field. It's pretty picture perfect folks. Now if we could only get her to agree with the umpire while she plays short... :)

Hells Balls
Red was on fire all game...kicking in the gaps and running the bases. In the final inning his team was tied 7 to 7 with "Last Minute Chaos". With runners in scoring position, Red stepped to the plate with confidence and a certain bearded swagger. The pitch rolled steadily toward home and red took a two step run into the ball. He booted the red rubber deep to right center and as it found its way to the ground....the runner in scoring position crossed home plate at Westmoreland field 2....and Hells Balls was victorious. Great game Red Dawn.

Winners, Loosers & Boozers
The grass games tonight played right into Neal's strong suit....monster kicks. With home plate set in deep center field due to the muddy infield....the dirt was an automatic home run. This small change made a huge difference for Neal and the "Winners, Loosers & Boozers". Neal stepped up the the plate and watched as the ball skipped across the damp grass....with a two step run up he booted the kickball high and deep. The "snatcher in the rye" defense was ready but when the ball came back into the atmosphere it was past the grass line and into the dirt......there was nothing left to do but cheer, high five, and congratulate Neal on his grand slam. Neal humbly thanked creatine, heavy weights, and his well shaped hair. Congratulations, you are the player of the week.

Jean Kelleher
Jean Kelleher
Sometimes your butt gets in the way...
But that's ok as this is often a good problem to have... 96.8% of Jean's pitches tonight were on point, or at least close enough to be kicked. However, there were a few that bounced off her backside and went astray, providing each and every player with a good little chuckle. As her snatcher's battled the always solid Ro-Sham-Bo'ers, Jean held steady on the mound. There were even a couple plays where she got to show off her Mr. Miyagi wax on/wax off skills as she blocked blistering balls flying at her. The first, a solid shot right back at the pitcher, knocked Jean on her behind. She bounced right back up and seconds later made up for it with a solid line drive catch. Jean's unmatched ponytails (plural) and great attitude made for an even better night. Thanks Snatcher's! You guys may not have the best record, but you definitely have the most fun, and that's what really matters!

Last Minute Chaos
Ron brought his "last minute chaos" team together for what must have been the pre-game talk of the season. Team "Last Minute Chaos" has been improving each week and on week 6 they found their groove. Defense was tight, bunts were down the line, and runners were on to the next base at every chance. Ron, you are the player of the game for harnessing the chaotic energy and beating the league leading, undefeated "Ro-Sham-bo".

Nick Diamond
Winners, Loosers & Boozers
In the 3rd inning Nick came to the plate with bases loaded. He chatted up the catcher and took a second to put on his special headband. The ball rolled steadily across the grass and Nick saw his opportunity. He booted a hight kick to deep right field and never looked up. As he crossed home plate on an in the park grand slam, he quickly raised both his hands in victory. As his hands quickly reached the the sky....off came his tear away pants....he had been waiting for this moment all his life. Great kick Nick and thank you for wearing shorts under those tear away pants.

Amanda Bednarz
Amanda Bednarz
RO-SHAM-BO
One of the players from team "I like big bunts" was a serious KC Royals fan. He was sporting his hat and checking the score between KC and the Giants as the kickball game went on. Just after the Giants won the game, and the series...Amanda, who was pitching at the time, asked the kicker "what was the score.......of the Giants game". Of course this flustered the kicker who was fighting off depression after his Royals lost the series. As a result, he kicked straight back to Amanda, who deflected the ball, picked it up, and drilled the kicker on his way to first. Talk about adding insult to injury. What a great play! Thank you Amanda, you are the player of the week.
