Summer Co-ed Sand Volleyball in SEPDX Wednesdays

You can always count on the boundless energy of Jack Kuo to get the party started! He came to Opening Night of SEPDX sand volleyball prepared to provide pizzazz and spark to not only his teammates on Sandy Bottom, but everyone within a mile of the courts. The sand and summer night must have brought his game to new levels as he performed some serious body-sacrificing and maneuvers that would make a contortionist blush. Jack led Sandy Bottom to a three game sweep of Spike Club and still had energy left over to hang out afterwards for some friendly scrimmage games with anyone who would take him on. Thank you, Jack, for launching Opening Night with a bang - can't wait to see what else you have in store for us the rest of summer!

Oh Chris Creasing, if USL could issue an "All World All the Time" award, you would be the recipient for SEPDX on Wednesdays! Week after week, season after season, Chris brings everything he has to either indoor or outdoor volleyball and what an exciting player to watch! Despite the continued hot temps and burning sand, Chris played with all the coolness of a true champ, with mind-boggling dives to save the onslaught by Unprotected Sets' kill squad. His service was impeccable and oh-so-close inside the line by a sliver. Chris led his teammates Rebecca and Corin in a Homeless Cougs decisive 3-game sweep with his amazing v-ball skillz and determination!

Broc the Block Rocker was unstoppable at net on Wednesday night at the SEPDX quarterfinals match vs. Back That Pass Up. Countless times he sprang into a precise and well-timed leap to dash any notion of a kill the opposition had. After Back That Pass Up won the first game by a narrow margin, Broc said "enough of that" and added some smokin' service and critical kills to games 2 and 3 to lead the FreeBallers to victory and a spot in next week's semifinals. Ever the humble athlete, Broc seemed surprised at his POTW award, but to his teammates, opponents and USL staff, there was no question that he dug deep and came up with some incredibly fantastic moves on the beach courts. Look out everybody - Broc has those USL championship wristbands in his sight next week!!
