The Blue Flames came out like scorched earth and burned up the competition. They kept pace with the Electroluminators offensive prowess. You had to be there to believe this game. Back and forth. Incredible catches by both teams. Everyone was playing their heart out. Congratulations to all participants, you played in an absolutely incredible game.
"It ain't over till it's over," Yogi Berra once said. And true was the case tonight as the "Blue Flames" needed to rally from behind in the late innings to win and advance to the championship game. This is where the mighty Drew Saunders comes into play. Down 18 to 12 in the top of the 6th, with 1 out and bases loaded, Drew fielded a hard ground ball at first. Drew tagged the runner advancing to 2nd and then quickly ran to his left to get the batter/runner reaching for 1st to end the inning. Then in the bottom of the same inning, Drew hit a two run triple.
Drew's game play in the 6th inning was definitely the game changer.
