Freaks of Nature came back from a 5 run deficit with some great defense and some real composure to take the championship home at Irving Park this year. The whole team is full of great players and sports.
Thanks to all the Freaks for a great season and representing what it means to be great Underdogs.
Our player of the week just so happens to be the captain of a team of great players. It was hard to choose a player of the week from a team that was full of people who played their hearts out to come back from a 5 run deficit against a team that has made a living off of last minute come backs all year. But come back they did, led by Dani in what was described by the packed bleachers as "One of the best kickball games ever."
Congrats Dani, on a great game, great season, and on being such a great Underdog! See you in the fall.
Pitching a near complete game on opening night, Doug was on his game. Striking out 4 kickers and making throws/outs to 1st. Adding kicks, hustling around the bases and having fun, "double d's" was a mad man. Nice game.
