First Place

Summer Co-ed Flag Football at Lewis and Clark Wednesday

The forecast called for rain on the evening of the championship, but the sky was clear for the Blood, Sweat and Bears and Alcoholics Anonymous showdown. These two veteran teams met under darker than normal circumstances with new lights only halfway installed at the L&C field. It did not seem to matter much as both teams were catching everything thrown their way. It was a high scoring affair with only a one point difference at halftime. AA turned to their defense as they so often do when they find themselves in a close game. They picked off a pass and forced a few turnover by downs in the second half to break the game open and get a little breathing room. BSB made a roaring comeback bringing it to within 7 points with only two minutes left. AA held on to the ball and punched it in one more time though to secure the win. AA were crowned the victors and they got those snazzy wristbands once again!

Wednesday, August 13

Sami is 'Player of the Week!

Alcoholics Anonymous

In a crucial moment on fourth down and AA needing a first down to potentially secure the championship, Tommy spotted Sami open in the center of the field. Tommy's pass was tipped at the line of scrimmage, forcing a high, wobbly ball to slowly sail towards Sami. She met the ball just beyond the first down marker and made an incredible catch, securing the first down. She acted so cool and so calm like it was no big deal while Michelle was hollering all sorts of encouragement, as she often does. It is because of moments like these that we so often find A.A. at the top of the leader board.

Wednesday, July 23

Nate 'Player of the Week'

Alcoholics Anonymous

In a not so surprising way Nate only had to be beat once on defense to get his head fully into the game. After letting up that first score, Nate made the best interception of 2014 on a very deep pass to end the first half. He followed up in the second half with taking a short pass coast to coast for a phenomenal score. Tommy, the quarterback, continued to find Nate by looking his way on each conversion attempt. Nate and the rest of the A.A. crew played a solid game and took home the win.
