Get Juiced pulls off a stunning 11-0 win for the rights to the championship of the Gabriel Park Summer League. They had first get past a tough and scrappy We Don't Stop at 3rd team that kept thier semifinal game tied until the 7th inning.
Hit and Runs won their semi-final game against the Master Batters in a thrilling 19-11 victory to advance to the Finals. Brian Dooley propelled them with a Monster Grand Slam that put the game away for Hit and Runs.
In the 11:00 game the Thrivers with their group of fun loving and entertaining team lost to the Master Batters by a score of 16-2. Marky Mark Bissacio had numerous ESPN Plays of the Week catches while jamming out to the BoomBox in the Master Batters dug-out.
In the 12:30 game, The Hit and Runs pulled off a shocker of the 3rd ranked The Leftovers. Ron Ciccarello drove in the winning run for The Hit and Runs in the bottom half of the 7th to win the game 9-8. This was after a spirited comeback by the top of the order for The Leftovers that tied the score 8-8 with a 2 run Home Run.
And in the 2:00 game, We Don't Stop at 3rd played a close game with Slammin Stiches winning 13-9 to advance to their semi final game with Get Juiced. Slammin Stiches kept the game close until the 6th inning when they couldn't respond to We Don't Stop at 3rd taking a 3 run lead. We Don't Stop at 3rd added one more run in the 7th to win 13-9.
Keith Caylor pitched a shut out for Get Juiced to seal the championship. He kept The Hit and Runs off balance with a variaty of off-speed pitches and painted the corners all game long.
With runners on 1st and 2nd and Greg playing in Left field. The batter hit a deep fly ball down the line in left. Greg, with his incredible speed, got underneath the fly ball and made a "Willie Mays" over the should catch to end the game.
