Sporting their colors in true fashion, Base Camp clinched the title amid timely hitting, a plethora of defensive stops, and of course, sharing with both teams their love for beer.
Highlights include making a bang-bang put-out as the final out of a close 15-14 game at third; a diving catch in left-center, arms fully extended; and free beer and tacos to share among players from all teams.
Ross goes the extra mile and he sure gets there in a blink of an eye. Animal Control arrived ready to capture a wild gazelle loose on the bases but all they found was Ross Putnam. His legs are a blur when he's busy stretching singles into triples, blowing through second and forcing throws by the defense. He sure helped his team cruise to victory over the course of two games.
Rounding third on her way home I don't think I've ever heard a dugout cheer so loud to have their player slide into home. Amidst a sand storm of dust and a trove of white doves (okay, maybe there were no doves) rose Betsy...only to discover there was no play on her at home, thus no slide needed. Hilarity ensued.
