Battling through the elements the Trunk Monkeys rose to the kickball challenge. The weather was abismal, the rain was ferocious, but this could not deter the eventual champions.
In the first game the Trunk Monkies squeaked by Shake and Bake with a 1-0 pitcher's duel that was a perfect match of strong competetors. Rob Breyer's strong play on both sids of the ball helped lead his team to the championship round.
Following that Gladys destroyed the competing Harvey Ballbangers with a 15-2 thumping that was highlighted by Christine Newton's clutch 3 rbi's.
This led to the championship match between the Monkeys and Glady's crew.
Led by Joe Koonts's game deciding grand slam, the eventual champs defeated the worthy competetors of Gladys and her Baked Fruit Cake 6-2.
Both teams did not let the elements deter their efforts, but in the end the monkeys reigned supreme this season. And what a season it was!
