Undefeated Thunder Dome wins in extras.

The last day of a phenomenal summer season was highlighted by an awesome championship game. Playoffs for the Unthank weeknights were very well played by all teams. No matter what the standings showed, every team came out to compete and have fun. From first time home runs to first time wipe-outs, every player had something to talk about. In the Championship, Freeballers were matched with an undefeated Thunderdome for all the marbles. There was some trouble getting offenses started early on. It was in the late innings when we had the first runs. Joe from Freeballers managed a monster kick to right with the bases loaded for a grand slam. They held a 5-2 advantage going into the bottom of the seventh. With two outs, and two runners on, Jeff Edwards came up and kicked a rocket high blast that dropped in and Jeff made it all the way home to tie the game. In the eighth inning, Freeballers couldn't score and Thunderdome came up to try for the win. It didn't take long for the winning run to come in and Thunderdome finished off a spectacular season of kickball.
