Greg played both games almost exactly the same today during Shaggin Balls double header. Against two separate teams in back-to-back games Greg started off the first inning with a 3-run in the park home run! The home runs were impressive in itself but even more impressive was his determination and speed going around the bases. Both of those home runs (along with another later in the game) he rounded 3rd base just a few steps away from the runner in front of him. Luckily he didn't pass them along the base path but he did "encourage" them to get to home quick so he didn't catch up to them. Looks like teams will be playing a little deeper with Greg up to kick from here on out...way to go Greg!
Reminder: No games the next 2 weeks due to community events and 4th of July Weekend!
POTW: Kimberly Johnson
Indy #2
Kimberly played great in the field today, catching everything that came her way. Even after the third baseman had tipped a hard line drive she had the talent and wherewithal to snag the ball before it hit the ground. Awesome plays by Kimberly helped her team to a first week victory for the new Fourth Graders squad.
Kevin is the most talkative person I've ever heard on a ball field. He was having a great day in the pouring down rain. He gave everything he had today including sliding on his knees in the outfield to make a catch. He must have slid 20 feet in the rain soaked outfield before popping up and throwing the ball back into his teammates. Kevin also had a great day at the plate and enjoyed a few more slides on the base paths during his at-kicks. Kevin helped The New Originals to a strong victory 16-9 over Shaggin Balls.
Mr. Chatterley played two great games last Sunday, but it was the second with The New Originals that gets him player of the week. Cheered on by the rest of his team, Jayson brings in a couple great runs with his signature "head down bullet train" move. Plus, I think few have nearly as much fun playing this great game. Well done, Jayson!

Bringing only the freshest of moves to a kickball field on one of the hottest days of the year? Priceless...
I mean, really. Through a game in excessively high temperature, you'd think most kickballers would start to feel a drain of energy throughout the course of a game. Not Marie! She took the opportunity to make the scorching sun her own personal light to shine in. Dancing and singing to all the jams from her sidelines. Marie, you're simply amazing.
quack...quack...Quack, Quack, QUACK-QUACK-QUACK-QUACK were the cheers from the sideline of the Upstanding Areolas Ball Kicking Brigade whenever Vanessa Stine came to kick. She quickly earned "the Quakernator" nickname; complete with a protruding duck coming out of the front of her baseball hat she did not disappoint. On more than one occasion she got on base. Once she was there she gutted out base after base as she beat a handful of close plays with her aggressive running style.

POTW: Maren Mcquire
Da Bajinas
Maren seemed to be everywhere today, and came up with one big catch after another in a tightly played contest. Just when it seemed like the other team would rally, Maren would track down the fly ball and end any chance of a comeback. Just an all around awe inspiring performance today for Maren
As the catalyst for Da Bajinas, Tyler refused to let his team lose this weekend; even after falling behind in both games. His up-beat, refuse to lose attitude was the difference on the field. Constantly keeping his team loose and ready, Tyler was someone Da Bajinas could really rally behind. He was no slouch on the mound either - pouncing after the ball like a crazed Manther (half man, half panther), who always seemed to be able to come up with the big out. Just an awesome performance.
