There was a major battle Thursday night between huge rollers, Patrick of EPD and Josh of Happy Hookers. Two capped out scores in the first round brought expectations of an epic night through the Hollywood roof! What could happen next? What greatness would we see?
The competition in the second game was not what we expected. It was not a race for #1, but a solid race for last. While Happy Hooker, Josh struggled his way to a still respectable 118, Patrick brought the house down. Way down. Super down to a great low 90 to win the coveted position of great Underdog status, the bottom. Our winner of Player of the Week thanks to his ability to laugh himself to the best low score on the lanes! Well done, sir!
Making their first appearance at Thursday Big Turkey Bowling, Pit of De-spare brought out not only their big guns, but their Pirate Pride as well. Mr. McGerald took the Pirate idea a bit differently with an overcoat full of "Pirated" music and videos. On top of that, he bowled two great games helping Pit of De-spare get their first pair of wins for the season. Awesome!
I would like to give an award to Mr. Buck Janasak for having the slipperiest bowling shoes in the world. "Just watch this," said one of your teammates. "It's amazing, he falls down every time it's a good roll." Indeed, the next roll and Buck slips on the lane as he watches the ball roll, and roll, and... STRIKE! You couldn't help but watch every time he was up to roll. It was simply fantastic to watch. I think it's time to get some gum on those shoes, though...
Oh, the Happy Hookers have done it again. Another theme night of pure awesome, Hooker style! Handmade boutonnieres and corsages were donned on their quite stylish prom apparel. Stetson cologne was re-hydrated and stanktified the lanes. The spiking flask beside the punch bowl filled with pitchers of PBR, dyed red. Is it punch? Is it blood? Wait... there's that bucket of blood! Bloody hatchet? Bloody gas mask? What the crap is going on?! It's horrible! Oh, the humanity!
OK, it wasn't horrible at all. As a matter of fact, it was simply stupendous. Paired with the team's actual photos from their own prom nights (which were last year, right?) and being so courteous to bring along plastic sheeting as to not leave a bloody mess behind; Happy Hookers made Prom Night a night to remember... FOREVER!
Mighty Mugs were mighty creative during this week's Spririt Challenge! Rolling with the birthday theme from game 1, the ingenious Might Mugs scoured the alley looking for treasure to give to an unsuspecting Underdog player. A straw! The perfect gift, already wrapped! Their findings included a plastic skeleton, a plastic bat and the latest issue of bowling rag extraordinaire, The Van Port Bowling Newspaper. Great job guys! Truly impressive!

I mean, wow! First of all, that full body pajama action with drawn on bootie flap is pretty amazing. But wearing a blanket and pillow as your cover? Priceless! I can only imagine the delight on your team's face when you unveiled that hilariousness. Well done, indeed.
