The game was tied in the bottom of the 7th. Kicks and Giggles were at the bat, but this was no laughing matter. They were determined to win the game in a last minute rally. A mighty boot compelled the ball towards the sky and victory seemed close. Enter Eric Hilton, from out of no where with a full on swan diving catch to save the game and force a 9 - 9 draw. That's how it's done, ya'll.
With his team fielding only 8 players, Jeff Brubaker gave a defensive performance that picked up the slack. Unverified reports indicate that he was responsible for half of his teams outs, leading them to a thrilling 9-8 7th inning victory.
Although they were nudged out of their victory, Team Short Bus Short Shorts had all the spirit and imagination to destroy where it counts. All of it kicked off by their grand entrance using a hula hoop, parchment paper, some timely sparklers, and the balls to jump through it all. A great show.
POTW: Those who wear shorts on the verge of being called Speedos.
Team Short Bus Short Shorts
Added flexibility and a nearly nonexistent tan line are just a few of the benefits of these microscopic "coverings". The only thing keeping these denim tree leaves from getting smaller is the law-- the law of human decency. It takes bravery and strong dedication to suit up and wear these on the kickball battlefield; and Team Short Bus Short Shorts sure are brave.
Even though she's engaged and doesn't yet have a date set for their wedding, Sherri's already sending out invitations of a sort. We won't say what the invitations are for but we'll just leave it at she wasn't happy about being called for a bunt when her team was up by 10 runs so she issued a firm warning...errr...invitation to the umpire. All in fun of course. If her fiance wasn't there to hold her back at the end of the game all heck may have broken loose! Well, maybe not but we can exaggerate a bit can't we?
In the game between two awesome teams, Drei Streifen and Brews on First, Amy Mason helped lead her team to a 9-4 victory! In her last at bat she decided to not listen to me when I recommended a bunt, and she kicked it for a knock up the middle. Good job on ignoring me! Amy is the player of the week!

POTW: Steve Gehring
Shake n' Bake
Steve is this week's POTW winner for his all out hustle and awesome kicking. Steve gave his all on thursday night in the outfield and up at the plate. From diving catches to blasting kicks, Steve showed his teammates that they could count on him to help win at any time. His side to side approach to kicking made it difficult for the defense to react and allowed for his perfection all night long. Great effort Steve!
Chanps and 3rd place games at 7:30p - Each team has 2 games.
POTW: Greg Schroeder
Shake n' Bake
Greg was fielding at the shortstop position when a a ball was kicked toward 3rd base. The 3rd base-person, missed the kicked, but Greg was there to back her up. As a base runner rounded 3rd, Greg picked up the ball about 10 feet behind the base, and hurled it towards home plate, where the ball struck the bottom of the runner's back foot as he was moments away from his front foot landing on home plate.
