With her zebra colored shorts, Monica was a kickballer on a mission. Her speed on the basepaths was amazing and her catching ability in the field was spectacular. Just an amazing night of kickball for Monica!
It Burns When I Kick forfeited to Drinking Team With a Kicking Problem.
Player of the Week- Ashley Boal
In a scrimmage game that was all about having fun, Drinking Team with a Kicking Problem's Ashley Boal showed us all how it's done at shortstop by making multiple fingertip grabs. She also exemplified her own teams commitment to greatness and sportsmanship by playing hard and fair in a game that was decided before the first pitch was thrown. Great job Ashley!
Team of the Week - Thank You May I Have Another (Indy 1)
On a beautiful, sunny day early in the season, Thank You May I Have Another showed up with smiles on their faces and the tropics on their minds. Grass skirts, floral print, and coconut bikinis flashed around the basepaths as they kicked their way to an 11-8 win over It Burns When I Kick. The only thing missing was a pig on a spit and a ukulele. Way to bring the spirit to Wednesday night kickball at Alberta Park. Thank you, and may we have another indeed.
Trailing the entire game to IYANO, the never ending glory, never gave up. (Luckily they had arm shreders to cut the lead) In the bottom of the 7th they were ready to kick and down by 3. Railing to take the lead and winning by 1, thanks in large to Alex Gonzalez, with his kicking(hr earlier inning) and dodging abitities,scoring the winning run, dodging 2 peg outs in route to game winning run!! Well done. Glory lives on. Great game played by both sides. Good times.
Look out everybody, Freaks of Nature is starting to make some noise at Alberta Park on Wednesdays. After starting the season with 2 losses and a tie, the Freaks have come back to win their last two games. Their most recent win came over previously undefeated league leader Thank You May I Have Another. "Maggie" Magyar set the tone in the top of the 1st with a fingertip grab at shortstop worthy of any highlight reel. From their it was smooth sailing as the Freaks dropped a 4 spot in the bottom of the first while systematically adding to their lead throughout the game. Their defense continued to play solid throughout the game managing to stop any large inning by Thank You May I Have Another's potent offense. This is a team to be reckoned with folks, the secret's out!
Team of the Week- Drinking Team with a Kicking Problem
This drinking team didn't have a problem kicking this week scoring 8 runs to beat the Freaks of Nature by a score of 8-3 for their first win of the season. However, when Drinking Team with a Kicking Problem shows up at the field, kickball isn't the only thing on their to do list. They barbecue, they cheer like a highly trained university cheer squad, and they have as much fun as any other team on the field. Way to bring the spirit Drinking Team and congratulations on your first win of the season!
