Every member of the Ballbreakahs are the players of the week this week. The Ballbreakahs played a 9 inning game and outlasted thier opponent with a final score of 2-1. Every players contributed and it would be impossible to choose just one. Great game!
In one of the best games of the summer, Miguel Ferris led The Glue Factory to victory over the Dropkick Smurfys at Alberta Park on Monday. In a back and forth, hard fought battle, Miguel and his laser arm helped squelch an offense that was consistently answering the call all night long. This truly was the type of game you hate to see either team lose. But in the end, Miguel made sure the Glue Factory ended up in the win column while demonstrating sportsmanship towards his teammates and foes alike. Well done sir, well done!
On Monday night, Kim Johnson helped lead Winners, Losers, and Boozers to a win over the 211 Brawlers. She was part of a fluid offense that consistently scored runs against an undermanned Brawlers squad. But where Kim really shined was in the field making multiple snags and putouts out at shortstop and 2nd base throughout the game. She effectively shut down any hopes of the Brawlers getting on the scoreboard and led the Boozers to their 3rd win of the season. Nice work, Kim!
Kickin' Balls and Taking Names showed up on Monday ready to play not just one game but two. In their first matchup Matt Kolansinski made out after out in 2 consecutive innings and helped stop a late rally by the Glue Factory in the 7th to help push his team to a 9-8 victory. He didn't stop there... In the 2nd game he continued his suffocating presence stopping any prolonged rally by You Look Like I Need Another Drink in a 9-7 win. 2 great games in 2 hours for 2 wins, nice job Matt!
Walking into Alberta Park on Monday evening, the 211 Brawlers were looking for their first win of the season. They were down 2 players, but they had an ace up their sleeve in player/coach Troy Hammond. Dressed in suit and tie Troy drew up a plan on how that elusive first win would be achieved and it was down right OFFENSIVE! The Brawlers scored early and often and went on to win 15 - 8. Nice strategy Troy and congrats to the Brawlers!

Lindsay Godfrey - Player of the Week
In the defensive matchup of the week, Lindsay Godfrey helped spur You Look Like I Need Another Drink on to victory in a 5-2 win over What's My Name? Throughout the game, Lindsay locked down right field like she owned it and she did it with style making tough plays look routine, all while wearing a smile on her face. Way to make it look so easy Lindsay!
It was dusty, blue sky night when the smurfys took the plate against You look like I need another drink. The 1st inning was a tradeoff of runs, which continued til the 3rd, when great defense by both teams came through for the last 4 innings. The triple leading off the inning from Bob was the spark needed to take home the victory. Congrats, well played by both sides. Bob, Dan AND Steph you will be missed.
