With runners on 1st and 2nd, the next pitch could blow this close game wide open. Not with Chris Mikes playing 1st base. Chris caught the fly ball, tagged the runner that was on first, and then threw the ball to 2nd base to get that runner out as well. Heads up play Chris to help win the game.
Note that some game will take place at Wilshire Park on 7/18
TEAM ROID RAGE
The whole team showed great sportsmanship awesome custom uniform names and had a blast! They got the party started! The great game "boosted" the afternoon!
Todd Ashley made one of the best catches ever at Penninsula Park tonight. I think a large majority of hardcore kickballers know how hard it is to catch a kickball not to mention make a really good diving catch. That did not stop Todd from showing off his defensive skills tonight. While running backwards into the outfield from first base, he looking up at a ball directly over his head, layed out parallel to the ground, landed while bouncing and rolling with the ball firmly grasped in his arms to make a spectacular catch. For his efforts Todd is our POTW.
North Ballers came in firing vs. Rock Flag & Eagle, thanks to aggressive base running and big kicks. Then Defense took over at the bottom of the innings. No balls hit the ground in the outfield, catching everything and no bunters made it to first, thanks to Cory. The lefty pitcher, was 5 for 5 throwing attempted bunters out at 1st. In a game witha couple first time witnessed (base running), this was one of'em. Well done
Deep into the game, North Ballers were heavily down. They were fielding 9 and shut out at this point. A great catch from Kim brought them up to bat. The team rallied and kicked in run after run, pulling ahead in the bottom of the 8th. The team held their lead and earned the "V".

Nothing gets by Steiger
In the opening round of the playoffs Monday at Peninsula Park, Chrissy Steiger led the Wolfpack to an upset victory over the Rutabaga Stus to send the Pack on to the semifinals. The Wolfpack got out to a 7-0 lead early and never looked back. Steiger's contribution came in the form of catching everything that came her way in centerfield. Every time the Stus threatened, it seemed like she was there to put out the fire. Nice job Chrissy and congrats to the Wolfpack!
This week, the Wolfpack took home the championship thanks in part to Tiffany Culbertson tearing up the base paths. She provided the spark sliding in safely twice in a 10-run fourth inning that proved to be the decider in the final game of the season. Way to hustle Tiffany!
