Deltek Destroyers, SkoCats
Katherine Strobeck
Digs, saves, gets
Whatever you call them Kat delivers. Making it look easy while doing it and extending plays. Brings a lot of energy to the team and it is infectious. Always a nice game!!!!!!!!
No matter the score or intensity of the game Christian kept it calm, cool and collected. In the most uncontrolled setting, a serve receive from a team who WANTs to score on you, Christians response was just a nice and controlled bump that looked so effortless time and time again. It didn't matter where he was on the court he had a bump set that seemed to float in slow motion giving his team mates just enough time to get where they needed to be to make the best play they could! Not only that but Christian was killing it at the net too, hitting, blocking, you name it! Congrats on being the player of the week Christian!
All About That Block, Deltek Destroyers, Sand Shark
Stephany Eikanas
Ball Busters
Volleyball is a "no contact" sport but that doesn't make it any less difficult or dangerous! Just ask Stephany! As the competition was heating up the plays became more and more intense. Teams fighting to take points. Stephany in her position, down and ready to get scrappy, got hit with the unexpected.. a ball straight to the face... once? twice? lost count? talk about taking one for the team! The shock of being hit smack in the face by a spike(s) from the other team wasn't enough to knock her off her game! She continued to get down and scrappy the whole night and it paid off because her team took home a 2-1 win! Congrats on being player of the week Stephany!
This team was such a blast to watch and looked like they were having a great time on the court tonight! Ross really brought the energy, sacrificing his body for the ball and even bumping one up with his head (face?). I noticed Ross was making an effort to place the ball strategically on the other side of the net in order to rack up some crucial points, both in his serving and his attacks. In addition to his hustle tonight, Ross had a great attitude and was adding to the good vibes being shared on the court. His team even took some time at the end of their match to sing happy birthday to one of their own. Great job Ross!
Craig has put together all his dodgeball and kickball skills to become quite an interesting volleyball player. He’s not going to kick the ball - because that’s illegal indoors. Always in a good mood; Craig, you put the fun in Underdog
April Huggler - The woman with an unstoppable volleyball force
How I Set Your Mother?? Not the only team she's limited too
April showed up to the courts ready to play for her 8 o'clock game with her team but before their game even started she walked up and volunteered to fill in on any teams in the next hour that was short any personnel. After April's teams game was over she hung around and in fact found another team to play on for the next hour! The other team was very welcoming to her and April still gave full effort with a great attitude after being tired from the game before. She was a great sport and really spread her love of volleyball during the whole two hours of play.
Stephanie not only helped lead her team to back-to-back upsets to advance to the championship game next week but she also dug a ball into the hoop! She made the amazing dig and as her teammates started to chase it down they realized it was going in. It was nothing but net! We appreciate her as a volleyball player but maybe this is a sign of her true sports calling!
