Late Spring Co-ed Dodgeball at Friendly House Wednesdays

"I want to play coach, put me in!"
Those were the famous words by Lee Anne Donaldson from team I'd Hit That. She has been plagued by back injuries for some time and wanted to play in the season opener, but was cleared. Instead of pouting and griping, she did the next best thing.
Lee Anne put on her team colors, rocking out an orange shirt with a matching hat and orange pom-poms. She became the teams #1 fan and the loudest fan!
Before the game even started, she was on the stage hyping the team up by cheering and waving around the bright orange pom-poms like the sun rays on a beautiful day. During the game, she would cheer when the team would get someone out and get louder when her teammates got out. It almost seemed like she was chanting fight songs as the games went on.
I'd Hit That lost their 1st game in a close battle, but Lee Ann's song chants and moral support helped her team bounce back to get a victory in the 2nd game.
Lee Ann went above and beyond her role as a player, she came out to rally, support and lead all players by example by showing her team spirit. For this reason Lee Ann Donaldson gets the season opener's Player of the Week Award. Congratulations

Bradford DeLuca assembled his Questionable Catch team together for another week of Dodgeball. When he showed up to The Friendly House, he was roaming the courts like a captain would. He made his team run line drills and practice hitting targets to ensure accuracy.
All stretched out and ready to play, Bradford gathered his troops together one last time for some inspirational words. He threw some Italian in there so opposing players wouldn't understand. Once the whistle blew, he was all over the sidelines chanting with fight song as support for his team. Their 1st match was a "warm up game" to get ready for their 2nd match.
Midway through their 2nd match, Bradford was in the game showing his flexibility as he was dodging balls that were zipping at him. He managed to get a few people out as he pumped himself and his teammates up. One one crucial play, he threw it high and it happened to be a face shot to an opposing player. Immediately he was called over to the sidelines as the head ref pulled out a yellow card and waived it in front of him. Just like a captain, he took it like a champ. It was the 1st ever yellow card in a Dodgeball match.
When it was all said and done, he showed his great sportsmanship by going up to each player to congratulate them on a good game. For his great sportsmanship and for assembling a fun team to watch, we give the Player of the Week Award to Bradford DeLuca. Congratulations!
