We Kick Because We Care
With a snarl and a growl, Kenzie led her team to masterful back to back wins Saturday. Her T-Rex impression was a sight to behold and surely intimidated the position. Great job out there Kenzie and keep up the roar!

In a weird day at King School, Dan stepped up and made sure we had games to play. He took part in all three games for the day and was very helpful in explaining rules and giving advice to newer players. Didn't matter what team is was, Dan was there to be a true Underdogger. Great Job!!!
Matthew Smiley stepped up to base late in the bottom of the 7th inning... He didn't care about winning, but he was dang sure that he would save his team's honor and put some points on the board in his team's name before the end of the game. In a show of true athleticism and courage, Matt kicked the ball into right field and ran with one goal in mind: home base. He ran, dodging not one, but two throws to successfully score his team's first and final score of the game. Matt was a true underdogger, keeping his heart and spirits up when the chips were down to score some sort of victory for his team. Way to go Nut Kickers, and way to go Matt!
Jaima Smith was a great player throughout her whole game, an invaluable icon of morale, gruff, and sportsmanship. However, her true moment of awesomeness came late in the game with her team down several runs. Jaima ran to first in a frenzy to get on base, but the fielders did not want that to happen and threw the ball in what seemed to all to be a futile attempt to tag Jaima on her way to first. However, Jaima could not let this stand, and announced to everyone on both teams that the ball had barely grazed her pinky, and that she was out! This was an incredible act that speaks to the sportsmanship that we love at Underdog Sports, and for that Jaima Smith is Underdogger of the Week!
Conner played his first game of the day with his team (Wo)ManBearPig in a match against We Kick Because We Care. After his game however, a cry for arms from one of the following teams was sounded because they were lacking soldiers for the field. Conner and a couple fellow teammates joined the fray once again, and another game of kickball was had. It was in Game 3 that Conner really showed his stripes by staying for the doubleheader of the team he stepped in for, playing a total of 3 games in a row for the sake of the sport and his fellow athletes. Thanks Conner for being an awesome Underdogger!
Mike Funke is known as a kickball legend on the field, performing valiantly week after week with sweet kicks and awe inspiring diving catches. What was not known to most until today was that Mike Funke is also an epic brewmaster. Mike and his team came prepared to play with a miniature keg of hand-crafted deliciousness, which he was more than happy and willing to share with anybody who donned a kickball jersey that day. Mike, keep the kicks great and the spirit flowing!

Sarah Koniarski
Ballistic 103
Sarah really came through in what ended up being the championship game. Her awesome pitching, timely kicking and aggressive base running really kept her team in the game and then helped with the win. Great job Sarah, Ballistic 103 certainly wouldn't have been the same team without you.
