Her team was a little early, so instead of partaking in libations as would be expected from a player with an hour to kill, Shari played the role of good samaritan and helped out a team in need. Under the pale shadow of Mt. Hood we play volleyball in the sand. Traveling to the deep east side of Portland for Woks Up entertainment one can find Ben Anderson as the player of the week.

"Ben pulled his weight and then some," says teammate Ryan of their captain Ben who is quick to vote himself out when choosing player of the game. He always has a great time, helps out every team, and plays some killer volleyball.

Even if the shots you wanted came from a flat footed hit. Congratulations Ben on a well deserved player of the week.

This week at Woks up we have a Team of the Week. Thank you to Drink! Set! Spike! for doing exactly that! These players were there to have a great time and they were the first ones on the court and the last to leave this evening.

When their game was over, they made new friends with the more experienced customers at Woks up and started playing in. Eventually our other teams were able to join in as well. These guys are always having a great time. They have so many people that want to play volleyball, that they may need two teams for next season!

Bump'n sets vs. Free Beer was the match of the night, with every game within 4 points. BS would take the match in three, but had to labor thanks to the teamwork of Free Beer. Stacy was having an awesome game, passing and digging balls throughout the match.

This week we have an exciting underdog story of a team who won their first match! Congratulations Mercy Kill on a game well played this week. All members really came together with some solid rallies, some serious serves, and a lot of positive energy.

These players were so excited that they ran across the courts to report their exciting scores. Mercy Kill is one of the most friendly teams you will find. They are always having a great time, talking to all players and never turn down an opportunity to play after the league has finished.
