This week it was extremely difficult to choose a player of the week. There were so so many great candidates who game out and had a ton of fun. I'm going this week with a team, and that team is the Wildcatheters!!
These players are fired up, they are here to play, and they brought the numbers. I have not seen so many people in yellow shirts since a duck game! They had enough people to field two successful teams. They were super awesome and loaned a couple of their ladies to a team that was coming up a few players short so that we could get more games in.
Even playing on the other team they were still cheering for each other and bringin' on the positive vibes. Hats off to you Wildcatheters, and congratulations!
This week our team of the week goes out to the New Directions! When their opponent wasn't available for a match up these resilient players made a match up of their own. Using this oppportunity to work on their skills the team played each other in a 3 man (and woman) battle to the finish.
Keeping spirits up they cheered each other on in a show of rivalry and sportsmanship. The serves were strong, the kills were stronger but overall they had a great time. After all fun is what volleyball is all about! Congratulations this week New Directions!
This weeks team of the week goes to the Block Tease! This week the ladies of the team sported matching pink patterned jumpsuits. It helped bring them to victory in the second and third match when they kicked their game up a notch and came away with a very close win. The game was fun to watch and their creative gear helped to keep the team pumped throughout the match.
This week's team of the week is Indy#1! They are currently still deciding on a name of their own. This team has really come together over the last couple of weeks. They communicate well on the court and even have room for comic relief.
Today was officially the first day we've seen a volleyball swish through the basketball hoop in the middle of play! Granted we don't give extra points for good aim, but it was fun to see. Congratulations Indy#1 on three things, your improving skills on the court, your fun and positive energy, and being the team of the week!
This weeks players of the week go to teammates Kasey Kuenzli and Ellie Waterhouse from Block Tease. These two came ready to dominate, and added some flare to the court with their matching hot pink rompers. They helped lead their team to victory, and they did it with style. Congratulations girls! Keep up the great work.

Set It N' Foget It
This week's team of the week goes to Set It N' Forget It! In volleyball we generally see some intense volleys go back and forth. Tonight was the night of crazy "how the heck did that go over!" shots. Set It N' Forget It was all over the court, they dove, and spiked, and they had an abundance of those crazy awesome shots. It was a battle well played. Congratulations for being team of the week!
Congratulations Block Tease! Tonight was a battle royale of the best of the best at Hillside Community Center. These were some of the toughest games we've seen all season! In the first round Spiked Punch and Practicing Safe Sets were so evenly matched that the volleys lasted literally 5 minutes before the ball finally dropped. Block Tease faced off against Jayson and the Argonauts to bring in the first victory. This was an awesome show of ability on both sides of the net with a bump, set, spike nearly every time. Tough blocks and hard kills let the team to victory this round.
In the final match Block Tease faced Spiked Punch for the championship. Both teams brought it and it was unclear until the final ball dropped where the victory would lie. These teams fought hard and had laser precision with their spikes as well as the tips. Block after block, and each laser kill, this was a fantastic game to watch! Congratualtions to all the teams that made it to round two and especially to Block Tease as the Champions!
