Not Bad.....
Flirting with danger

"Get it!...."

What a match up between the #2 and #4 seed, Shaggin' Balls vs Grassy Balls for the championship. This best of three match came down to the wire in each game with action packed in every serve. Both teams were tired from their games before and played like champions, but one team wanted it more.
The 1st game Shaggin' Balls took it, leaving Grassy Balls with only 16 points. That was an awakening for Grassy Balls. In the 2nd game they came back to win 21-19 to set up a 3rd and deciding game,.
The final game did not disappoint. When Shaggin' Balls was pulling away on a 4 point streak, Grassy Balls came back with a streak of their own to tie it up at 15 each. With the momentum in Grassy's favor the ball came over for Shaggin' Balls and a perfect set was made by Lindsey for Jeff. He rose up like a revolutionary leader to slam that ball down into the ground to get a point for his team.
On the next play, a great rally was ongoing and this time is was Jamie, from Shaggin' Balls, who set the ball for Brad and he went up to crush the ball but this time it was Barefoot Pat from Grassy Balls who came up to challenge the kill and successfully blocked the ball to award Grassy Balls the point.
It was a back and forth game where both teams where starting to feel the pressure. It was 20-20 and both teams can feel the victory and ready to bask in the glory. A Serve went up and a well placed ball by Jessica, the captain of Grassy on the other side to award their team a point and a 21-20 lead.
With the fans cheering and on-looking as the next rally was intensely going on, both teams were completely focused on the ball. Shaggin' Balls hit the ball over. The ball came over flirting with danger as it was hit towards the sidelines. Complete silence was in the air as the ball landed out of bounds for the game winning point.
A new champion was born, Grassy Balls came in and took down the final game 22-20. Along with their fans, they all celebrated and became the new Underdog Summer Volleyball Champions. Barefoot Pat said it best "Not bad for a bunch of old farts."
Anyway you put it, congratulations!

º Forfeits
Parenthesized numbers indicate wins or losses by forfeit.
When calculating Ranking Points, forfeits may be weighted differently than normal wins and losses.
