Marjorie Pichon came out to Woks Up thinking "....what did I get myself into?"
She was on the roster to fill in for a needed female to play with 99 Problems. She came in not knowing who her teammates were or where she even was.
Fortunately, once she was greeted by her teammates she fell right into the perfect routine of having fun and playing the game that she loves.
Marjorie played like there was no tomorrow as she dove to dig balls that came at her and served up a storm against her opponents. But above all, she had the most fun all while displaying her awesome sportsmanship! For all this, she gets the Player of the Week Award. Congratulations!

Rick and Jill from The Sandy Balls showed up early and in gear with their neon team spirit shirts on. Jill had her crystal ball on the court knowing ahead of time whether the ball would land in or out. Rick stuck around to cheer on the next set of games however ended up jumping in as a sub for The Woodrats. Best play of the night was this duo's successful dive keeping the team's spirits alive for a 2 to 1 win.

Sarah from The Sand Lots came equipped with a winning attitude and the necessary provisions to sustain her team. Her mantra for the night was you win if you win and you win if you lose...as long as she you have beer.
She was not the only one working up a sweat on her team, but in the third set she was the one with the winning serve. During her interview after the game she said they may have lost the game but it felt like she won the championship. Sarah, you are a winner.

The Volleyball gods have chosen... This week Kylie was almost without a team but lucky for her Andrea and Doug were back and ready for some volleyball. Between the team's handstand skills, Jon L.'s saves, and getting sand stuck in the pits, No Big Deal was able to win 2-1
Whether they won or lost No Big Deal's biggest fan, all the way from Texas was cheering them (and their opponent) on, keeping score and providing snacks (possible mom of the year). Happy Birthday Karen and great game No Big Deal!

Rick Close from Team Sandy Balls started the night off right. He showed up early, warmed up, and bought a pitcher of beer for his team. He really hit the jackpot in the sand winning the first set 21 to 11. However with Rick's saves, Stevanie's spikes, Jill's perfect hits and Sam's roll in the sand wasn't enough to finish the night with three wins. At least he found some money in the sand...and stuck around for more volleyball fun. Great night Rick!

Everyone deserves a happy meal, especially Harrison.
Everyone deserves a happy meal, especially Harrison.
Harrison P. from The Woodrats came with an unlimited amount of energy which is a good thing since they ended up playing a double header. Their first games was against The Bumple Bees. The Bumple Bees put up a good fight. Harrison's flexibility, sacrificing his body for the team and showing off with his splits gave The Woodrats the extra push needed to get to their first championship game, the quarterfinals.

In the quarterfinals The Woodrats held their own against the Volleyball Junkies, the last two sets being really close. Harrison kept the team cheerful through out the second games...but the Volleyball Junkies took the quarterfinals win. What a night, great season Woodrats! Like Harrison said, "everyone deserves a happy meal!"
