The very first week of the league Volleyball Esq. played against Indy #77 and lost. It was their one and only loss of the season. In order for them to have a rematch against their foe they needed to beat Sets on the Beach. Sets on the Beach made VE work for their W.
Without a break between games VE stepped on the court exhausted, losing the first set 15 to 21. The rain set the stage for the second set, Volleyball Esq. came together giving #77 a run for their money. With Allison R's driving chest shots and Allison S' barricade, they were able to switch the score around to make it 21 to 15. The rain stopped for the final set, the sand however (thanks to the rain) was flying everywhere and sticking to everyone and everything. Neither team was going to go home without pouring everything on the court. Matt, with his spikes and Jon with his saves gave VE the edge they needed to declare themselves the Champs 22 to 20. "Such an exciting game, by a show of hands who soiled themselves..."
