What a team effort by We're Not Just Drunk, We're Happy in the Thursday Midcore Championships! These happy people play with such cohesion and teamwork, that it's really a thing to behold. Coming in as the #1 seed, We're Not Drunk had a great season behind them to face the Calibrators in the championship game. Led by POTW Nathan Walden, Jen, Hayden, Paul, Kristie, and Kevin worked in perfect cohesion to really perform like a #1 seed and championship team and swept Calibrators soundly in two sets. Congrats on a near perfect season, We're Not Just Drunk...., now go celebrate and get happy!!
We're Not Drunk and neither is Nathan Walden (well, he didn't appear to be) as he DOMINATED net on Thursday night at the Tubman Midcore championship. Whatever you toss, bump or kill at Nathan, he says, "no problem", and just whales on defense by rocketing the ball right back for power and points. Same goes for his offense - wherever the ball is set, he has the reach and force to just annihilate the play and leave the defense, well defenseless! Opponent Calibrators simply had no answer for his game, but fought with all they had eventually dropping two sets to none. With his height, strength and mad skills, Nathan gets the job done and victory and the Midcore championship secured for We're Not Drunk, We're Just Happy and we'll assume they toasted him afterwards with a libation or two!
We have no idea what sort of state Paul Mueller was in Thursday night at Tubman in Midcore, but we're pretty sure his mind was set on DOMINATION! What a match he played vs. Some Spike It Hot - this guy can do no wrong. Whatever SSIH threw at him, Paul was right there to answer with some ridiculously crazy blocks, kills and ups. His focus and unbelievable play-making was contagious as We're Not Drunk, Just Happy came together to play some pretty incredible ball with a 3-0 match win. Of note was his work at net - impeccable timing and accuracy. After that amazing performance, Paul certainly deserved a libation or two to celebrate at Ex Novo!
