Make Friends In Portland

All the info you need about INDY sign ups!

TOP 5 MOST IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW

PAYMENT - You will place your card on file upon registration, but you will NOT be charged until you have been placed on a team.

REGISTRATION - Team placement is NOT guaranteed with registration, but we try our best to get as many people playing. You will receive emails leading up up to the league starting, including a “Confirmed” email if you've been added to an Indy roster!

PLAY WITH FRIENDS - If you have a friend or a small group you would like to play with, there are 2 ways to get signed up: during your registration, enter their email as a Teammate Request, or after, click on the “Invite Friends” button to send them a direct link. Either way, once they sign up, they'll be linked to you, meaning if one of you is placed on the Indy team, the other will be too.

COMMUNICATION - Communication with your teammates is key. Indy Players should utilize the Underdog Sports Leagues App to introduce themselves (without sharing your contact info), communicate your game attendance, view league information, and plan your post-game hang!

FLEXIBILITY - If you do not get a spot in the league you registered for, we will do our best to get you placed on a team for another location or day of the week.

And most importantly... Let us know about your Underdog Indy experience, so that we can help you and others, have a great time at the fields, on the courts, or in the Sponsor Bars!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is an Indy?

An Individual Player (Indy) is someone who is passionate about playing with Underdog, whether it is their first time, they are new to the city, or their team is taking a season off. An Indy is someone who signs up by themselves, with a friend, or small group because they may not have the numbers to make a full team. An Indy Team is then built from Individual Registrations.

Am I joining an established team?

Nope, Indy teams are built from Individual Registrations like yourself!

How do I meet my teammates?

Indy Teams typically meet for the first time on the sideline before your first game begins, but it doesn't have to be. Download the Underdog Sports Leagues App and chat with your teammates preseason - introduce yourself, ask questions, and coordinate a pregame meet-up.

Can I join with my friends?

Yes, during your registration, enter their email as a Teammate Request, or after, click on the "Invite Friends" button to send them a direct link. Either way, once they sign up, they'll be linked to you, meaning if one of you is placed on the Indy Team, the other(s) will be too.

Please note that small groups are considered a maximum of 3 people for most sports, and 4 people for Kickball and Softball

Am I guaranteed a spot on the team?

Unfortunately, no, you are not guaranteed a spot on an Indy Team. We have many people looking to play with few spaces available, but we do strive to get as many people playing in our leagues as possible. If you're signing up for a Co-ed league, your chances of roster placement increase if you have a Teammate Request of the opposite gender.

When will I know if I made a team?

Every Indy receives a “Not Offered” email upon registration. This means we have not yet created the roster. About 7-10 days before the league starts, we will start building the Indy team, and you'll receive communication about your placement. If you are placed on the roster and the payment goes through successfully, you will receive a “Confirmed” email. At that point, you are on the team!

What if my Indy team wants to play again?

As an Indy Team, we will contact you mid-season about playing together again, if we have a similar league coming up.

And the best news? We already saved your team a spot! So, there's no worries if the league is already filled.
