What started with a shower ended with bang as Cubinalsox dropped 6 runs in the 6th on the Nudes to take the championship by a score of 8-6.
Without their regular captain at the field in the early going, it was Jordan the rochambeau master who threw the devistaing paper to cover the Nudes' captain Joe's rock. Cubinalsox then elected to kick first, a now trademarked move.
But it was all Never Nudes in the beginning. Skillful baserunning and layin' down nasty bunts the Never Nudes jumped out to the quick lead.
Then came the 6th... with 2 outs, Cubinalsox took control and never looked back.
In the D2 championship it was Kicmaballs over The Playground Bullies 5-3 despite some fielding mistakes the made it interesting. In the end, Kickmaballs held their ground and closed out the tight game!
Cheers to all 16 teams that competed in the playoffs, we'll see you all this Summer!
On a day of cold rain, Jennifer brought the heat - laying down some ferocious bunts and chatin' up a storm in the field. But as our President would say, it was her "strategrery" that secured her POTW. Jennifer decided to kick away late in the game rather than sticking with the bunt - throwing the defense all off. Oh, and they fact that she made the ump laugh on numerous occasions didn't hurt either. Congrats and see you all in the next round of the playoffs!
