Behind the leg of Gene Cummons, the scoring of Annie Laurie and the defense of Ryan Perry the Sweatband scored a championship tonight. The game was a low scoring affair that was played extremely well but the defense of the Sweatbands proved to much for the Straight Ballin' squad. Sweatbands take the league title with a 3-1 victory.
The sweatbands defense was untouchable tonight and helped their team to a Championship. Everyone chipped in on the field and for the they are our championship players of the week.
Annie is the player of the week for her undeniable speed around the base paths and heads up base running. She had a huge three run home run to rally her team in the bottom of the third inning, and then showed fantastic savvy on the bases to tag up on a fly ball. On the next play, she scored from second to win the game, helping her team pull off the upset. Great Job!
