It was the 5th inning and a close game. Players were on base and ready to advance as Brian Sokolow of Team Arctic Blast came to the plate. The pitcher wiped some sweat off of his brow and threw a pitch right down the middle of the plate. Mr. Sokolow took a running start and made contact with a hard toe punch.
At that moment flashbacks of Roy Hobbs from the Natural came to mind. Roy and Mr. Sokolow destroyed the game ball. A loud pop permeated the playing field and half of the exploded ball flew through the air and was caught by the pitcher. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I can say I was a part of history.
Michael came out with his game face on Sunday afternoon and made plays that some would consider an ESPN top 10. By the end of the game his shirt had turned green from diving through the grass and robbing opposing players of base hits. If everyone brought the same intensity Michael does there would never be a dropped fly ball.
