High Kicks, Random Sensations - Indy #1, Sweat Bands, Transcendents
POTW: Kurt von Wasmuth
RMLS
A team's first run of the season is a beautiful thing, and Kurt reminded us of that Thursday. After a slightly rough first couple innings team RMLS saw their first run cross and with an excited scream Kurt exclaimed... "That's it, game over. WE SCORED A POINT!" So even though they lost the game, Kurt you are POTW!

POTW: Erin Scott
The Ten Horsemen of the Apocalypse
The Horseman (and women) were tested this week - and Erin stepped up her game to grab POTW honors. It was heard on the "We Always Get to 3rd Base" bench that the Horseman's defense was catching everything - when in reality it was Erin catching everything. Way to go Erin!

POTW: Gabe Kutcher
RMLS
Gabe was the most determined competitor on the field, hands down. In the second inning he turned his ankle crossing home plate coming from first bas. After some quick ice he was back out in the field making 2 outs for his team the next inning. Refusing to ever give up his spot, he played on. Throughout the game he made plays in the field and continued to crush the ball with his bad ankle at the plate. His competitive spirit inspired his entire team and helped RMLS cruise to victory.

POTW: Mark Stronczek
High Kicks
Hey may not like to run but this High Kicker can catch! Hey, its no secret that that the High Kicks had a rough first game or two (a fact they wear as a badge of honor) but Mark has made sure that his team rapidly improved. They haven't won a game yet, but if they continue this kind of play its only a matter of time.

POTW: Hollis Baley
Transcendents
With the Transcendents down by 14 their captain Hollis knew it was time to make something happen. With her bunt laid down nicely she began to run, and she ran hard. When they over threw her on first, she took off to second in a hurry. The ball was thrown to second and Hollis slip head first into second to avoid the out. Covered in dirt, she popped up when she realized that there was another over throw. This time she put the petal to the metal and began to run all the way home. With her blaze of speed rounding third it was clear there was no stopping her. After some conferring between the umpire and the captain of the Horsemen it was decided that Hollis had scored the Transcendents first run.

POTW: Matthew Wiehr
Random Sensations - Indy #1
After coming back from a leg injury from the previous weeks Matt was pumped up and ready to play some kickball under the lights at Montvilla on Thursday night. Random Sensations first runs of the game came from Matt after he came all the way from first on a single to score. The following inning Matt went down trying to pick up a ball that his fellow teammate lost as she fell. He grabbed the ball and tried to get a runner out at home. He fell hard as he threw the ball and scuffed his knees up good. Matt was determined to play an entire game this week and as a motivator he had used the blood from his knee as face paint. With the look of an underdog warrior he got into to position and kicked in 2 RBI's for the Sensation's. After a good cleaning of the knee and some bandages Matt completed the entire game and was a major contributor to the Random Sensations win Over RMLS.

POTW: The Whole Damn Team
High Kicks
This week we do not honor just one person for Player of the Week, we honor an entire team. Sure, although the High Kicks lost in a nail-biter to the Random Sensations, they posted their highest run total this season, and they did so in style. Not only did they come with costumes, they also brought their own cheering section complete with pom-poms, and a stereo filled with music personalized for each member of the team while they are up to kick. So although they have yet to win this season, you gotta hand it to the High Kicks; they know how to roll.
