The bases kept filling up and he continued to clear them. 2 Grand Slams!!!!! Nuff Said. Kicking Asses lived up to their names with help from players like Kyle.
Nathan brought an unusual style to the game of kickball with his black and pink lightning patterned tights. Although unorthodox he found success with two big kicks, including one home run!
Josh tweaked his ankle in center field. Teammates helped him off the field. He went on to continue to strike the ball as a hitter and get on base. Also finished off the game with some great pitching.
You know it's Aaron's turn to kick when you're greeted with a handshake and you see him calling his shot (his shot generally anywhere with in the field of play). All while bringing energy and youthfulness week in and week out Aaron always performs for his team in the field or on the bench as a cheerleader. Keep bringing that bravado Aaron!
Tim earns Player of the Week honors for his impressive determination and drive in the outfield. Sadly, Tim was a little too determined on a fly ball this week and dove and tweaked himself but his tenacity and love for kickball stands out. Thanks Tim!
Jared's team may have lost the game, but he played his heart out. Even when the odds were well against him, he was upbeat and he was having fun. During one of his at-bats late in the game, he shouted "Mia Hamm!" at the top of his lungs while running up at the ball. That kick sailed far into the outfield and into our hearts. The other team remembered and awarded him player of the game just for that kick. He truly exemplified the spirit of Underdog by staying positive and having fun in his game.
Mark (last name unknown) is the Week 4 player of the week! Mark played through lingering injury to make spectacular highlight reel catches in center while contributing at the plate. Keep up the good effort Mark!
Morgan from The Kicking Asses is this week's POTW for having no fear while running to first base and keeping in good spirits after a mini collision at first base early in the game. Keep up the hustle and good sportsmanship!
Ty garners this weeks POTW honors by both demonstrating sportsmanship along with his teammate Jon and showing off a big leg. Ty had two home runs this week and almost another a third but had to settle with a triple.
Josh is an outstanding player on an overall outstanding team. This week Josh came back from a hurt ankle. But this did not keep him from performing excellent. The Kickin Grass' played a great first game allowing them to advance to the next. They played back to back games in some extremely hot weather. Among them, Josh made many huge kicks, scoring many points. Josh also showed expertise on the field, hustling and making every play count. If the team had not told me of Josh's previous injury I never would have expected it. Josh is a team player who is inspiring to watch.
Mark is this week's POTW for leading the Holsters to a quarterfinal birth in the playoffs. He did it all in the first game of their doubleheader, recording a clutch double play in the top of 7th to keep the game tied and then kicking the walk off home run in the bottom of the 7th to send his team to the quarterfinals. Mark shined again in the quarterfinals, kicking another home run before falling short to the #1 overall seed. Thanks for a great season Mark and the Holsters!
Overall the Enginerds played really well. their kicking was great, fielding on par, and energy/spirit ran high. They are always a very impressive team to watch. I feel that Ryan contributes a huge part in this. As captain Ryan is extremely supportive of everyone on his team. He is an outstanding player and an even better leader for his team.
