POTW: Bryan Laing
Park Block Butchers
Bryan Laing was able to do a spin move, turning in the air & drilling down a home-plate peg from so far-out field, even Keanu Reeves was heard to say "Whoa." This play helped secure his team's success, closing the inning with a double-play that literally occurred about 6 inches from home plate. Keanu can't be wrong. A "Double Whoa" goes to Mr. Laing, whose finesse and positive spirit helped make this tightly matched game that much more of an Excellent Adventure.

Best Pitching EVER!
Allen's defensive effort today was matched by no one. His ERA was zero, he allowed zero hits and he made zero errors! Regardless of all of this we hope he "shows up" even stronger next week!

Couldn't say enough!
This week's Player of the Week goes to none other than Megan Cook! When her teammates talked about how awesome of a game she had they couldn't say enough. When asked why they thought she earned player of the game they spouted off WAY more than we'd write normally so obviously she earned not only player of the game but player of the week as well! Really though, that awesome snag of the line drive was just jaw dropping!

Mikey "BACCON" Smith
3 Doubles ordered Well Done
Mikey "Baccon" Smith displayed utmost class, pardoning himself before gametime for not wearing his team's Kelly Green shirt, wearing a Grey Rip City one instead. By mid-game, "Baccon" was able to make his Grey Rip City shirt look as Green as Colonel Summer's grassy outfield - sparking real competition with his 3 double plays. He may have tried to blend in with his neutral grays, but there was no mistaking Mikey's outstanding showmanship on the field, delivering the goods & proving that "Baccon" in fact, makes all things better.

Nice Throw! Nicer Dude!
Not only did Adam play a second game to help Kick It Up avoid a forfeit, he made one hell of a throw to nail a runner one step from scoring a run. Adam fielded the ball and gunned it home from shortstop hitting the runner moments before touching the plate. What a nice guy and what a sweet play!

Double Duty!
On a scorcher of a day, Natalie played the role of good samaritan. Not only did she help her team - The White Collar Criminals to a win, but she helped the Angry Dragons field a team and was part of thier win as well. It was hot, but Natalie didn't mind playing two games.
All games moved to Sewallcrest Park. SE 30th and Market.

Awesome Job!!!
What a magical game for one of Underdog's good guys. With his team in need of runs, Allen stepped up to the challenge each time, kicking in all of the runs for his team. Throw in a couple poorly executed - but comical - slides and Allen was the no brainer choice for player of the week.

Amazing Play at First!
Kim was a rock at first base this week, fielding her position to near perfection. Any bad throw, low throw or stray ball that might not be catchable, Kim somehow made the catch for the out Just a great game for her!!!!!

Awesome Defense.
Matthew Gibbs was a one man wrecking crew on defense tonight, ranging all over the field making one highlight reel catch after another. Just an awesome performance out there!!!!

Great Game!
Lauren was all over the field this week making great play after great play. She was responsible for a sweet double play that really sealed the win for her team. Just a great over all game for Lauren - nice job!

All Clutch!!!
With his team down by two runs entering the 7th inning and the bases loaded, not only did Eric kick his team ahead, but provided a little insurance as well. His grand slam in the top of the 7th put Kick It Up ahead and ahead they would stay. Just an awesome way to propel his team to thier first win!

Brian really brought Thee Angry Dragons out of the fire last night providing both the go ahead runs and making a lazer of a throw from third to home to nail a runner rounding the base. Without Brian's prowess at 3rd base, things may not have turned out so sweetly for the Dragons. Great Job!
Not only did Starr make it for the game, but when she showed up, she played in her nurse's scrubs helping Happy Birthday to a victory and spot in the championship game on Wednesday...what dedication!
Juliane is the player of the week for pulling off one of the funnest plays I've ever seen. As she was running into third, the third basemen attempted to throw her out. Julianne was able to do some wacky-mid-air splits dodge and the ball went right through her legs. Without even slowing down, she rounded third and scored a run for her team. What a fun play!
