On a gorgeous Sunday afternoon at Lillis Albina park, the Little Giants won back to back games to secure the midcore championship.
The Little Giants earned the berth to the championship game with a semi-final win over the DirtyBirds 10-4. After the Little Giants built a 3 run cushion in the first frame, there was no looking back as the Little Giants out kicked the DirtyBirds and then kept the 'Birds off the basepaths with timely defensive plays to secure the 10-4 victory. Austin Elliot led the Little Giants offensive charge with two homeruns and 4 RBI's.
In the championship game, Kristen Lee's lead off kicking helped the Giants buid an early 3-0 lead that the Kickboofers couldn't recover from. The Giants tacked on 3 more runs and held a feisty Kickboofer team to just 3 runs to secure the Championship 6-3. Scott Weaber. of the Little Giants had great team leadership and a few defensive gems in the win.
