Summer Co-ed Softcore Kickball at Sewallcrest Park Sundays

In a blistering heat the Newton's topped all teams with a second straight undefeated season to capture the title of Sewallcrest Champs. Carson made an amazing diving catch in center field for a double play that was one key to the Newton's victory. Defense was definitely the game-deciding factor as Matt made a spectacular heads-up play on the mound. With just one out and The Abusement Park challenging to score with runners on first and second a bunt up the third base side threatened to load the bases. Matt charged towards the bunt and turned and threw to first base....wait...no he didn't! His awesome fake to first base fooled us all including the runner at third who started towards home. Matt turned around and made a great throw-out tagging the runner to get the second out and the lead runner! It proved to be the momentum changer in the game as the Newton's went from there to lead the game and never looked back.
