I'm sure Pin Envy had TLC's No Scrubs running thru their head as they faced off The Scrubs for the championship title. But before that, they battled S-Show and Rainbows. An anonymous Pin Envy player admitted to being a little intimidated by both S-Show's knitty fashion sense and their team name but It didn't stop Kristin, Ty and Josh of Pin Envy from bowling some turkeys, knocking down pins and taking the lead over S-Show to move onto face The Scrubs in the finals. It was a pretty tight game between the two teams, but The Scrubs managed to come out on top, securing the championship title! No worries, Pin Envy secured the Spirit Champs title for the impressive array of hats, costumes, sweaters, jackets, glasses, grass skirts, neon fashion, bad wigs and Underdog spirit!
Sgt Sasquatch and the Bowling Brigade were no match for The Scrubs in game 1, though they bowled rather valiantly and ended up securing bragging rights to third place in the end.
Beer Gutters and Oh..I'm Up played a rather intense game of No Tap, running neck and neck for NT coupons through both games. Oh..I'm Up took the lead early, but Beer Gutters gained quickly. An exciting bowl off in double overtime declared Oh... I'm Up the No Tap Champions, despite an impressive NT showing by Amanda and Grant from Beer Gutters. All in all, a very exciting night and the cornicopia of knitted horrors contributed to the festive air. Congrats to all!
Banana Hammock Boy! Tom's ingenious superhero costume was not only the hit of the lanes, it seemed to give him some sort of (bowling) ball power! He rolled the first spurkey of the night and helped his team to victory. I'm not sure if it was the banana hammock, extra bananas or the sheer underwear (over tights) that did it...but you might want to bring a banana or two for next week, just in case! Mrs. Banana Hammock is one lucky woman! Way to go Tom!
