No matter how intense the competition, there should always be room for sportsmanship in any game. Hannah repeatedly embodied this amazing sportsmanship throughout the entire game. She continuously rallied her team and brought the energy. Hannah truly embodied the Underdog spirit with her attitude. For increasing the fun had by all, Hannah is our Player of the Week. Congratulations!
It was apparent from the moment she stepped onto the field Wednesday night that Hannah Herndon had softball on her mind. From her unbridled, passionate support of her teammate during rock-paper-scissor to her aggressive baserunning all game long, Hannah displayed some serious softball grit in a hard fought 22-20 victory over cross-town rivals Hit for Brains.
Sold work tonight Hannah...your passion for the game and one-of-a-kind dance moves on the field made for a memorable evening of Underdog softball at Westmoreland Park.
This past Thursday at Westmoreland Park, Greg of Back Door Sliders came up clutch when his team needed him most. During the bottom of the last inning, Back Door Sliders needed 3 runs to tie, 4 runs to win in order to beat Ice Cold Pitchers. After rallying 3 runs in the bottom of the inning to tie the game, Greg stepped up to the plate with runners on first and third, two outs. With what looked like no pressure at all, Greg hit a line drive shot between short stop and third that allowed the runner from third to walk home for the win. For the walk off single during the game’s most intense moment, Greg is our player of the week. Congratulations!
