It was an all around great day for softball with the Townshend Tea Co taking the crown. They were able to navigate a tricky three game stretch with no break in between. In the championship game, they found themselves pitted against an upstart East Burnouts squad who made the championship game by playing stellar defense and taking out the #1 seed.
It appeared as though the Burnouts - who were the more rested team - may be able to pull of the David vs Goliath task of beating three higher seeded teams, but the hot bats of the Tea Company continued and they prevailed
This Sunday, the only thing hotter than the weather was the Tea Company's bats.
Great run and great season indeed.
