Back That Pass Up
What a team, what a game! Thursday's league is underway and Michelle Meneses came out to wreak havoc on the opposing team. The Indy team, now known as Victorious Secret, could not get their groove on because Michelle's outstanding defense and "X Factor" plays on offense.
Michelle caught a pass near the end zone and made her way inside to score a touchdown to extend the lead. Victorious Secret was marching down the field when a pass was tipped and in the middle of spectators, Michelle came down with an amazing interception to put the game out of reach. Great game for Michelle Meneses, this weeks player of the game.

Thursday night had a great game between the Twinky Dinks and Alcoholics Anonymous. A 1 point game at the half and neither team tired and ready to gut it out. Both teams played with heart and passion when in the final 2 minutes Aaron Mayes shinned like a bright star lighting up the field.
He made great receptions and gaining many yards after the grabs. In the final 25 sec, his team down by 1 and on the drive to score, the Alcoholics Anonymous kept creeping inch by inch closer to the end zone. On the last play of the game the quarterback drops back and scrambles because of the pressure. He then finds Aaron leaping in the air and coming down ensuring he stays in bounds with the ball to score the winning touchdown.
What a play! What a game! What a player! Congratulations to Aaron Mayes, the player of the week.

Twinky Dinks
Naomi Head could do no wrong under the lights of Strasser Field on Thursday. She caught everything thrown her way, including two TDs, an extra point, and a partridge in a pear tree. Then she flipped to the other side of the ball and played defense, rushing the quarterback with the agility of a wild cat. She even recorded a diving sack which helped her team to a 33-12 victory.

Sweaty Yetis
Stephanie Seguin from the Sweaty Yetis found time to take the field on her busy schedule to help celebrate a victory over Victorious Secret.
Stephanie, lead her team on defense and raged like the incredible hulk, pulling 4 flags and snatching an interception for a great return.....all this on her birthday. A great way to celebrate with a win.
After the game was done, she went back to her self and stayed cool like the other side of the pillow.
Her play on the field and her "coolness" off the field, makes her an easy pick for this weeks player of the week. Congratulations and happy birthday Stephanie.

Balls Deep
Balls deep had Bill Thrush as the quarterback today. He was off to a rocky start and then fell into a groove. He threw for 2 touchdowns and got it done on 3rd down conversions when they needed a 1st. Whether it was scrambling or tossing on a gender play for the 1st down, he got it done.
Unfortunately, disaster struck in the 2nd half when he had to leave the game because of an injury. Bill played a great game, completing about 70% of his passes in a losing effort. Because of his play, he is the player of the week. Get well soon Bill, you will be missed on the field.

Need a go to player and is not afraid to get the ball? Just go to Elizabeth Detter. When her team needed a crucial 1st down or a gender play....she was there and wasn't afraid to break a nail. Early in the game, her team needed to come through on a 3rd and gender, Elizabeth took the QB position and through a completion for a 1st to keep her team marching on.
Victorious Secret's came to the unfortunate demise of Balls Deep, but spirits were high and smiles where in the air as Elizabeth did it all for her team. She threw for 1 touchdown, completing multiple gender plays and 1st downs. As if that weren't enough,she pulled multiple flags to stop the receivers from getting additional yards.
An easy pick for this week player of the week. Congratulations Elizabeth Detter!

Twinky Dinks
Gloves in hand, check. Football ready, check. A smile on your face and ready to play flag football, double check.
Will McCloskey came out ready and pumped to play as the Twinky Dinks took the field Thursday night against Back That Pass Up.
This game did not disappoint, leading to an edge of your seat thriller.
Will was the X-factor in this game. Often when the Twinky Dinks needed a 1st down, he would step up and be the man in the middle to get it.
21 seconds left and his team down 40-36. The ball at around the 10 yard line. The ball is snapped and the quarterback is scrambling because of the defensive pressure. The ball is fired right into Will's chest. He is bobbling the ball in the end zone and then he controls it. The whistle blows....Touchdown!!! Extra point is good, game over. 41-40 victory.

For his amazing sportsmanship and his game play, he gets the player of the week award. Congratulations and good luck in the championship game.

Twinky Dinks
Amidst all the aggravation from the 1st game and the testosterone levels rising, Brittany Dody kept her cool the whole time in both games. She not only had a smile on her face, but she also played both games very well.
In the 1st game, she played excellent defense, pulling 4 flags. On offense she stepped up for her team when they needed a gender play completion or a 1st down. Despite the loss, she kept her head held high and that smile was still shinning.
In the runner-up game, Brittany, kept the excellent game playing going. She converted 3 receptions for touchdowns even though her own teammate tried to steal the pass on all 3 attempts (nice try Tommie, but this was Brittany's day).
Above everything, she had that special Underdog Sports smile that only a true player knows. Congratulations to Brittany Dody, this week's player of the week.
