Spring Co-Ed Softball at Irving Park Sundays

With a mitt like a magnet Kate patroled the rover postion in her teams dominating double header performance. Katie made multiple running saving catches, the biggest being a running grab in the gap helping to preserve the first shutout of the season. Kate also got her offensive season off on the right foot by keeping innings alive and driving runs with big hits in both games. A great all-around day on opening day.

On what appeared to be a fine Sunday not only did Astroslides get their game on but, they also helped the games get on. Some great pre-game field repair by multiple players allowed the games that happened to happen. After seeing them play I know why they were eager to play. Great all-around defense and big bats were the answer for a hungry Ichiros team. All the hard work before and during the game really paid off.

On this fine Sunday of softball Liz Lewis stood above all others. Her team No F in Talent played the first two games of the day. Liz put together a fabulous line-up and played a very tough third for both games. In game one she led her team to a come from behind victory or a very tough Astroslides team. In game two she was able keep her team on the right path and nearly pulled out another upset victory, this time barely falling to a high-scoring Pabst Smear team. Not satisfied with her efforts she stuck around and subbed for Falco's Army. This time she was able to get her revenge on Pabst Smear as she helped Falco's Army to a hard fought victory. The motto "Let's Play Two" wasn't enough for Liz but, three sure did the trick.

On the final Sunday before playoffs No F in Talent came to play and Bryce was the straw that stirred to drink. Some great defensive play at shortstop and multiple big hits helped his team to a one and one record on the day. In the first game Bryce was all over the place against a tough Honey Nut Ichiros team. In game two Bryce and his team played Huevos Grandes tougher than anyone all season, falling in the final at bat. It was a great effort on a great Sunday of softball.
