Team Qube took the field on today's season opener lead by their quarterback Abe Choe. The 1st half didn't go as smooth as planned. they found themselves down 19-0.
In the 2nd half, they made some re-adjustments by doing a rain chant because as soon as they scored their 1st touchdown the water from the clouds came down. The rain must of inspired Qube's quarterback because Abe finished the game throwing for 5 touchdowns and carrying his team on his back to bring them back for a 34-32 down to the wire victory.
Congratulations to Abe Choe, the player of the week.
Mitch Karnes got cleared from an injury and decided to come back and play football. It was like he didn't even drop a beat. He played his usual tenacious defense creating mayhem for the opposing team, pulling 5 flags. He talked up his team, but no one would listen, so he decided to take the initiative and get an interception. As he ran the ball back, he ran out of steam and decided to let the defense pull his flags down (he needed some oxygen).
Congratulations Mitch Karnes not only leading his team to victory, but also for this week's player of the week.
Before the game starting. Sam was on the sidelines giving his team a pep talk. "I'm not having it....." He was looking for a victory and he led by example.
Early on he made great defensive stops on crucial 4th a short conversion attempts, but it was his offense that raised eye brows. He was like Randy Moss out there getting free most of the times and finishing the game with 4 receptions, 2 touchdowns.
Congratulations to Sam Brown for this week's player of the week.
The sun is shining, an old record is broken and a new record is made. Tyler Yates from Alcoholics Anonymous, set a new record for touchdown passes. No one really knows what the old record was, but I'm sure he crushed the old one.
Tyler fell of the wagon and fell short of the 12 step program to play in this game (which is why he plays for Alcoholics Anonymous). He came out zipping passes through defenders and into his receiver's hands all day long. He ended the game with 9 passing TDs and clearly over 1,000 overall yards. Congratulations to Tyler Yates, the player of the week!
"I'm gonna get you"
Those were the famous words by Nathan Barry as he rushed the quarterback, disrupting his play. You would think Alcoholics Anonymous were lead on defense by Shawne Merriman because Nathan Barry was all over the field and ended up grabbing 3 sacks and 5 flag pulls.
Those stats did not quench his thirst because on offense he made a few receptions, turning 2 of them into touchdowns, including a 70 yard dash to the end zone.
Congratulations to Nathan Barry AKA "Butt Hugg" AKA "Ukranian Tank" this weeks player of the week.
Dimitre Popov finally made it out to play football on Sunday for his team and it payed off. He was making precise completions picking the defense apart.
When he couldn't find anyone open, he tucked the ball and decided to rush. It was like watching Michael Vick out there as he would scramble for 20 yards at a time.
Dimitre played a complete game throwing for 4 touchdowns and rushing for 1.
Maybe he should play more often because he gets the player of the week award. Congratulations.

New Tricks
Player of the Week
Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks. In the Men's league playoff game, Dave Schaefer from Dilithium Crystals was teaching everyone on the field new tricks.
At 50 years old, he made everyone on the field look as if they were going half speed. Dave not only brought youth and exuberance on the field, but he also showed his talent by making key receptions and big defensive stops.
He ended the game with 1 touchdown and about 99 yards receiving. He was also the spark plug for the team, bringing energy and enthusiasm. Congratulations to Dave for this weeks player of the week.
Shaun McCool lived up to his name at the Gentlemen's Championship game on Sunday. He help mount the comeback that brought his team to victory over the #1 seed.
Through out the game, Shaun's patience and experience showed as he was the spark plug on defense. On offense he had 3 touchdowns. Shaun was as cool as the other side of the pillow which is why he became this week's player of the week.
