Teams of the Week
What a season opener for dodgeball at the Friendly House. Team Ham Boppers vs Ballz to the Wallz played a game as if it were the championship. Both teams had excellent play dodging balls. And just when you thought Ballz to the Wallz had the game locked up, Ham Boppers would mount a come back.
With no time remaining and one player from each left standing. It turned out to be an old fashion stand off but with dodge balls instead of guns. Both players dripping sweat and tired, but in the end it was Ham Boppers that came back to end the match in a 4-4 draw.
What a match! What amazing teams! For that we give both teams the Teams of the Week award. Congratulations!

Player of the Week
Laura Harding played better than anyone on Monday night. She stepped on the court against her opponents and lead the rally for her team. She was often the last one standing against 2 or 3 players and one by one she dropped them like a bad habit winning grind-balling games for her team.
She did it so well that she did it twice. Even in the double header it was as though she was William Wallace leading her team to victory on horse back. The girls on the team had a saying that cannot be uttered in public, but it was very effective as a new dodgeball warrior rises.

Becky played like a beast at the Friendly House Monday night. Her opponents were intimidated by her as she flexed her machine guns and displayed her throwing techniques.
Every time she had a ball in her hands, she would take someone out, which made her a deadly weapon. She was so good that her teammates dubbed her a new nickname "Machine Guns".
She played so well she gets the player of the week award.

At the Friendly House we had a great showdown between two teams and the player that stood out above them all was Dodge Baller's Yoseb Kim.
He came out with a huge smile on his face ready to dodgeball. Even though he did get hit a few times, he displayed the true meaning of Underdog. Smiles, laughter and good times with people.
After the match was over and he was awarded the MVP of the match, he said the famous quote......"Oh Really". And for that we give him the Player of the Week. Congratulations.

The Dirty Dodgers love to have fun dodging balls. As a 1st time indy team they have stuck together to muster their 1st win of the season.
Every week they show up anxious to get on the court and play the old school playground game of dodgeball. Every week as they go out one by one they still carry on their smiles and laughter. This week they get to celebrate like its 1999. They left the court getting their 1st win of the season.
They've stuck together through thick and thin and that is why we play the game. Congratulations to The Dirty Dodgers, this week's Team of the Week.

Everyone came out to have fun at the Friendly House for a dodgeball evening, but one player stands out and displayed the true Underdog meaning. Chrissy Beeler from Debbie Does Dodgeball was all over the court dipping, diving and dodging balls. That wasn't all she was also dancing and prancing on the court.
She also got opposing players out, caught some balls, but what stood out above all was her smile and her enjoyment.
Her team went 1-1 on their games today, but for Chrissy, she displayed her personality and having fun all while smiling and laughing displaying the true Underdog Sports League meaning and for that we give her the Player of the Week award. Congratulations.

An American Send-off
Ball Busters' Katarina Lippmann has a great smile and showed that smile off last night as they entered road to the dodgeball championship. She will be going back home to Munich, Germany in 2 weeks and her team decided to send her home in style with a great American send-off.
Family and friends await her arrival back home, but not before she has something to remember us by. Ball Busters end up going to the championship match, but Katharina has such a great personality that it wouldn't of mattered if they didn't make the playoffs. She was all about smiles, laughter and having fun.....ohh and I forgot to mention, she can throw! She often got the last out on her team and when she got hit herself, she shrugged it off with a huge smile.
We wish her much luck back home and she will be missed by many here. Congratulations to Katharina Lippmann, this week's player of the week.
