Fall Softcore Kickball at Westmoreland Wednesdays

It's what you dream about all the time as a kid. You come up in the late innings, a couple runs down, a couple of runners on... and then... Wham! with one swing of the bat, (or in this case kick of the leg) you're immortalized as the hero. Rob Lawler did just that on Wednesday night at Westmoreland. Natural Born Kickers had scuffled all night... being a few runs behind all night, you just got the feeling it wasn't going to happen for them. But Rob turned struggle into jubilation in the bottom of the 6th as, with 2 runners on and down 7-5, he kicked a ball down the right field line and didn't stop running until he had scored. The NBK bench erupted and made the lead hold up in the 7th. Living out your childhood dreams... that's what Underdog Sports Leagues is all about. Congratulations Rob! Gabriel has some wonderful opinions. He’s a nice guy who seems generally approachable and amicable even when things may not go his way. It’s this calm disposition that makes him a joy to play with and against. As talented as a bear riding a bicycle, Gabriel is a coach on the field and a cheerleader off of it. Don’t forget.... he can also kick a ball.

Megan lead the charge for the Flatliners this week with very impressive fielding and kicking. Never sure about where she would kick it, Megan kept the defense on their toes. And when those high, moon shot kicks were sent out towards her in left field, she wrangled them with ease and got the ball back in to the infield to the dismay of batters and base runners alike. Nice job Megan and good luck next week!
