Summer Softcore Kickball at Peninsula Park Thursdays

Jen had what one could say a perfect day at the ball field. She is a true leader on defense and offense for her team, showing a great and strong female presence for PUNTS! She had strong kicks that went further than any had all day, helping her team move around the bases and score. She made numerous catches at shortstop, acting like a wall in defense. Jen played with a smile on her face showing true Underdog spirit!

An early home run, followed by a catch that had members of the opposing team applauding the play, highlight a day of spectacular plays for the all-world player, Austin Hodges. While he just walked off a finger tip grab at shortstop on a ball that would have sped by most others, the umpire, his teammates, the other team, and fans around the world stood still in shock as Austin calmly threw the bill back to the pitcher like it was nothing. That alone would have been worthy for a POTW award, but with the countless other plays Austin made, including a home run, there was no doubt he was the most deserving. Lauren excelled in all phases of the game this week. From cheering on the team to big timely kicks. Lauren also impressed with stellar defense making catch after catch in right field. Awesome play Lauren!

Lisa displayed exemplary sportsmanship and was a pleasure to play amongst. Great job Lisa!

Fielding a strong shortstop, and booting some of the hardest kicks I've seen in awhile, Hygie propelled his team to a first place finish. Trailing early in the game, Hygie booted a ball towards right center that got in between the defenders. This cleared the bases and propelled United Nations to a scoring frenzy. I felt as though Hygies play was well deserving of POTW, great job!
